National Institute of Plant Genome Research (NIPGR), New Delhi Invites Applications for Recruitment 2012 for Project Positions

Applications are invited from dynamic and eligible Indian candidates for various posts for the following positions:

Recruitment of the candidates is to be done in the DBT sub-project-1 titled “Chickpea genome sequence analysis and its alignment to genetic map” of ‘Next Generation Challenge programme on Chickpea Genomics’ under the supervision of Dr. Mukesh Jain, Scientist, NIPGR. The positions offered are purely temporary and are co-terminus with the project.

Candidates will be appointed purely on temporary basis for a period of one year, which can be extended / curtailed as per candidate performance and discretion of the Competent Authority. Selection of the candidates will be made on the basis of personal interview. Eligibility COnditions

For Senior Research Fellow

Should have obtained M.Sc degree or equivalent in Bioinformatics with two years of post M Sc research experience
Should have First class / division throughout academic career
Should have computer skills (Linux / Perl / Java), as they are essential in particular data analysis
Candidate having experience in next generation sequencing data analysis will be given preference.

For Junior Research Fellow

Should have obtained M.Sc degree in Life Sciences, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics or related field with first class / division throughout the academic career
Candidate having experience in the area of functional genomics, including transcriptomics, microarray data analysis, generation and analysis of transgenics etc, will be given preference.

For Technical Assistant

Should have obtained M.Sc degree or equivalent in any discipline of life sciences / B Sc with at least two years of experience in computer applications
Candidates having research experience in advanced molecular biology techniques and / or bioinformatics will be given preference.

For Lab Attendant

Should have completed Matriculation with experience of working in research laboratories
