UPSC raised Upper Age limit for Jammu & Kashmir Candidates to 37 years in UPSC exams

Candidates who are residents of Jammu & Kashmir can now write their civil services examinations till they attain the age of 37 years as the relaxation in the upper age limit has been raised by the central government which is going to be effective from next year.

In an order passed by Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) those people who are domiciled in the state of Jammu and Kashmir during the period from 1st Jan, 1980 to 31st Dec, 1989 would be considered as eligible candidates to acquire the upper age limit benefit.

UPSC has notified recently that the lower limit for the examination has been set to be 21 years and the upper age bar for general students is fixed at 32 years (as on 1st Aug, 2014). A 5 year relaxation margin on the upper age would be given to people applying from the Jammu & Kashmir region from the next UPSC examinations.
