NCERT, New Delhi invites application for Doctoral Fellowships 2014

National Council for Educational Research and Training, New Delhi has invited applications for Doctoral Fellowships from students who wish to pursue doctoral research in education and other related disciplines for the session 2014.

Fellowship will be given for research pertaining to the following priority areas:

  1. Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA)
  2. Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA)
  3. Concerns related to Teacher Education Schemes
  4. Role of teacher education Teacher Educators' Education

Eligibility criteria:

The candidates applying for this scholarship programme should have a good academic record with at least 60 percent marks at both graduate and post graduate level.

The candidates should not age more than 35 years as on last date of receipt of applications.

Candidates registered for Ph.D. degree in a recognized university/ or working toward their Ph.D. registration are eligible to apply.

Selection Procedure:

Candidates will be short listed on the basis of their performances in the interview to be conducted by NCERT.

Fellowship Amount:

NCERT Doctoral fellows will be given:
Rs.12,000 per month (non-NET)
Rs.16,000 per month (NET qualified) for a period of three years.

How to apply:

In order to apply, the candidates are required to send their completed application forms accompanied by a concept paper of about 1500 words on the theme of the proposed research, which should contain statements about

  • rationale and objectives of the study
  • conceptual framework
  • proposed methodology, and
  • potential contribution of the study

The candidates should also send the attested copies of all mark sheets/ certificates and proof of PhD registration (if already registered) with the application at the
