There are almost 7.5 Lakh vacancies in Banking Sector in the next 5 years. That means in five years time, more than 60% of the staff working in banks will be new and only 40% will be experienced – Director of IBPS

Banking Opportunities

In India there are 19 Public sector Undertaking Banks, State Bank of India (SBI), SBI Associate Banks and various Private Banks. Government Banks conduct 2 types of entry level exams to get into Banking Sector. CLERKS (SINGLE WINDOW OPERATOR) and PROBATIONARY OFFICERS (PO).

Institute of Banking Personnel selection (IBPS) is conducting COMMON WRITTEN EXAMINATION (CWE) for 19 PSU banks twice a year. There will be totally four exams in a year (two exams for Clerks and two exams for PO in a span of 6 months)

SBI will conduct exams separately for Clerks and PO as per their requirements.

SBI Associate Banks (Totally 5 banks) will conduct separate common exams for Clerks and PO as per their requirements.

Private Banks individually conduct exams for various different posts.
