B.A (Ancient History) or Bachelor of Arts in Ancient History is an Under-Graduate History course. Ancient history is the study of the written past from the beginning of recorded human history to the middle ages. The span of recorded history is roughly 5,000 years, with Cuneiform script, the oldest discovered form of coherent writing, from the proto-literate period around the 30th century B.C.

This is the beginning of history, as opposed to prehistory, according to the definition used by most historians. The Bachelor of Arts in Ancient History is a three years duration course and after its successful clearing candidates can also apply for a further Master's Degree program and then for research studies.
