BE Irrigation and Water Management or Bachelor of Engineering in Irrigation and Water Management is an Under-Graduate Water Resources Engineering course. Irrigation may be defined as the science of the artificial application of water to the land or soil. The Irrigation and Water Management degree is used to assist in the growing of agricultural crops, maintenance of landscapes, revegetation of disturbed soils in dry areas, and during periods of inadequate rainfall.

Additionally, irrigation also has a few other uses in crop production, which include protecting plants against frost, suppressing weed growth in grain fields, and helping in preventing soil consolidation. In contrast, agriculture that relies only on direct rainfall is referred to as rain-fed or dry-land farming. Water management is the activity of planning, developing, distributing, and managing the optimum use of water resources. In an ideal world, water management planning has regard to all the competing demands for water and seeks to allocate water on an equitable basis to satisfy all uses and demands. This is rarely possible in practice. The duration of the Irrigation and Water Management course is four years and the syllabus is divided into eight semesters.
