B.Sc (Hons) Bioinformatics or Bachelor of Science Honors in Bioinformatics is an undergraduate Bioinformatics course. The application of statistics and computer science to the subject of molecular biology is known as bioinformatics. The basic purpose of bioinformatics is to improve knowledge of biological processes; nevertheless, it focuses on creating and deploying computationally demanding tools to accomplish this goal, such as pattern recognition, data mining, machine learning algorithms, and visualization. Sequence alignment, gene discovery, genome assembly, drug design, drug discovery, protein structure alignment, protein structure prediction, prediction of gene expression and protein-protein interactions, genome-wide association studies, and evolution modeling are all major research efforts in the field.

B.Sc (Hons) Bioinformatics Eligibility

  • Aspiring students should have passed the 10+2 examination in the Science stream or any equivalent qualification from the recognized board.
  • The candidates should have secured a minimum of 55% aggregate marks at their Intermediate level.
