BSc (Hons) Chemistry or Bachelor of Science Honors in Chemistry is an Under-Graduate Chemistry course. Chemistry is the study of matter's composition, structure, characteristics, and reactions, particularly those of atomic and molecular systems. Various theories of chemistry and its subdivisions, such as physical chemistry, environmental chemistry, inorganic and organic chemistry, and so on, are studied during the curriculum. In addition to studying the standard Bachelor of Science disciplines such as Mathematics, Physics, and Computer Applications.

The Bachelor of Science Honors in Chemistry degree program also covers atomic structure, chemical bonding, thermodynamics, the chemistry of various elements, classes of organic compounds, electrochemistry, coordination chemistry, quantum mechanics, spectroscopy, computer applications in chemistry, chemical analysis methods, environmental and biochemistry, and other topics. The degree is three years long, and the course syllabus (theory and practical) is also three years long. Candidates who complete the course have several job options in a variety of fields.

BSc (Hons) Chemistry Eligibility

  • The aspiring candidates must have qualified for their 10+2 examination or equivalent qualification in the Science stream from a recognized Board.
  • The candidates should have secured a minimum of 50% aggregate marks or equivalent at their Intermediate level.
  • Also, some reputed colleges and institutes conduct entrance examinations to get admission to their Bachelor of Science Honors in Chemistry degree course.
  • Selection to the degree course in these colleges is based on marks secured in the final merit i.e., total marks aggregated in the final exams of 10+2 and the entrance exam.
