B.Sc. Physiotherapy or Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy is an undergraduate Physiotherapy course. Physiotherapy a health care profession primarily concerned with the remediation of impairments and disabilities and the promotion of mobility, functional ability, quality of life and movement. In other words, B.Sc. (Physiotherapy) degree course is the study of the branch of science which is used to improve movement dysfunction, to promote the functions of human body and optimal health. It involves the maintenance, assessment, restoration of the physical functions and body performance. The degree course covers the study of some of the subjects such as anatomy, physiology, physics, pharmacology, medicine, orthopaedics, neurology, pathology, psychology, biomechanics, exercise therapy and electrotherapy. The duration of the course is three years and it is very important and career orienting in nature.
B.Sc. Physiotherapy Eligibility
- The basic eligibility criterion for pursuing B.Sc. (Physiotherapy) degree is qualifying 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as subjects studied at intermediate level. Some reputed colleges and institutes demand a minimum of 50% marks in 10+2 as qualifying criteria to secure admission in this degree course.
- Some of the very reputed colleges and institutes also conduct entrance examination to get admission to their B.Sc. (Physiotherapy) degree course. Selection to the degree course in these colleges is based on marks secured in the final merit i.e. total marks aggregated in the final exams of 10+2 and the entrance exam.
