Diploma (Elementary Teacher Training) or ETT is an undergraduate Diploma level course which deals with a good preschool curriculum and has the ability to significantly contribute to a child's proper growth. The course is also known as D. El. Ed. (ETT) as per certain institutes like Brahm Rishi Yoga Training College. ETT plays the significant role of laying a foundation for further learning through a series of supervised experiences. It becomes very crucial that not only the preschool curriculum that is available but also the educators who would be a part of it understand the purpose of their profile. Generally, the duration of the course is two years but it fluctuates from place to place. The minimum time to complete the course is also differentiating from institute to institute. The course may also be available on part time basis in some certain institutes. The Diploma course is made necessary for becoming teacher at school level and it is a job oriented course.
Diploma in Elementary Teacher Training Eligibility
Candidate for admission to the first year of the Diploma course shall be required to have passed the higher secondary examination (academic or vocational) or other examinations accepted as equivalent thereto, subject to such other conditions as may be prescribed therefore.
The marks of admission for this course may vary from institute to institute.
In various institutions it conducts entrance exams plus interview and percentage of 12th class for the admission of students.
Note: The candidate admitted to Diploma in ETT course examination should undergo an internship training under a Teacher from a recognized elementary / middle / secondary school, where they have to prepare a lesson plan and teach the same for 30 days on application oriented papers and to this effect the candidate should produce a certificate from a school teacher countersigned by the Head Master / Principal of that school. Their performance during the internship training should be declared as Commended / Not Commended by the supervising teacher.
