Interior Designing is Field which deals with the arrangement of living space i.e organizing, managing and planning of the interiors of rooms at homes, offices, retail shops, showrooms, hotels, airports, exhibition halls, conference centres, theatres, TV and film studios and commercial establishments etc. The objective of designing space is to achieve functionality and to create the right kind of atmosphere for the right budget. An Interior Designer is a person who is a professional in the field of Interior Design or one who designs interiors as part of their job. Interior designers prepare drawings and specifications for non-load-bearing interior construction, this includes choice and decoration of walls, floors, roofs, choice and placement of furniture and other indoor objects, window treatments and other indoor objects, lighting and control of visual and sound effects.The work of An Interior Designer relies on many disciplines like environmental psychology, architecture, product design and traditional decoration. They plan the spaces of almost every type of building including: hotels, corporate spaces, schools, hospitals, private residences, shopping malls, restaurants, theatres, and airport terminals.

Basic Requirement
Different Programmes from different Institutes include Degrees, Certificates and Diplomas for which Qualifications vary from 10+2 in any stream with 50% while others like BFA requires a candidates to have passed +2 with 55% aggregate in Maths/Biology, Physics, Chemistry and English. Interior designing as a course has become popular in the last few years, there are only a few institutions offering reputed programmes in interior designing in India. School of Interior Design, Ahmedabad offers Five-year programme and J.J School of Arts, Mumbai offers 4 years Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA). BFA . Many part time one year diploma courses are also available in almost every city, which require very minimal qualification. There are many private institutions offering certificate courses for interior designing, qualification required for such courses is SSLC.

There is a wide range of opportunities within Interior Designing. Large corporations often Hire Interior Designers as employees on regular working hours. Designers for smaller firms usually work on a contract or per-job basis. One can also become a Self-employed Designer.
