ME Cryogenic Engineering or Master of Engineering in Cryogenic Engineering is a two-year Post-Graduate Mechanical Engineering course. Cryogenic engineering is a branch of mechanical engineering and chemical engineering that deals with cryogenics and related very low-temperature processes such as air liquefaction, cryogenic engines (for rocket propulsion), cryogenic surgery, et cetera.

Cryogenic Engineering is important because it plays a major role in modern industry and science. Today cryogenically cooled electrical machines and superconductors are widely used in power generation, instrumentation, transport, and some of the newer fields of technology. The Master of Engineering course in Cryogenic Engineering includes properties of cryogenic fluids and materials, refrigeration, cryostat design, instrumentation, safety, and properties of HE II.

ME Cryogenic Engineering Eligibility

  • Aspiring students must have completed their Graduation such as BE / B.Tech degree or equivalent qualification from a recognized University.
  • The students should have scored a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in their Bachelor's.
  • Some of the very reputed universities and colleges conduct an entrance examination for admission.

ME Cryogenic Engineering Course Suitability

  • The Master of Engineering course in Cryogenic Engineering is suitable for those who wish to pursue a career in the aerospace industry, government research establishments, and appropriate branches of the armed forces.
  • They should have the ability to understand customer needs and match the system operation to meet the customer needs at the maximum possible efficiency.
  • They also possess the ability to lead and manage multiple tasks with cost and schedule constraints.
  • They should have experience in resource and project planning including the development of work assignments with task and schedule constraints; directing other engineers, designers, and fabrication/installation technicians.
  • Students should have competence in several areas of mechanical engineering with an emphasis on mechanical stress analysis, structures, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, vacuum technology, and cryogenics.

How is the ME Cryogenic Engineering Course Beneficial?

  • The goal of the Cryogenic Engineering course is to give people not working in cryogenics an appreciation of the basic principles and problems associated with the field.
  • The Master of Engineering course in Cryogenic Engineering will also provide a foundation for future learning in cryogenics. Most industries and government agencies seek graduates of the Cryogenic Engineering Program and Professionals are made to design new types of structures projected for future needs such as advanced energy systems, cryogenic structures, space stations, undersea structures, and earthquake resistance installations.
  • They can go for teaching in colleges/universities both on a private and government basis after passing some certain.
