M.F.Sc or Master of Fisheries Science is a Post-Graduate Fisheries Science course. Fisheries Science is the academic subject that studies and manages fisheries. It is a multidisciplinary science that combines oceanography, marine biology, marine conservation, ecology, population dynamics, economics, and management to create a comprehensive picture of fisheries.

Many themes are addressed within the course, including aquatic environment and biodiversity; environmental biotechnology; biotechnology for a cleaner environment; and wastewater management and usage, among others. A Master of Fisheries Science program lasts two years and may be offered by certain institutes via correspondence as well. The training is extremely beneficial to rural communities as well as others. In comparison to other government and private occupations, most degree graduates launch their own private firms.

M.F.Sc Eligibility

  • Aspiring students should have passed their Bachelor of Fisheries Science degree or equivalent qualification from a recognized University.
  • And few of the institutes specify their eligibility criteria as the graduation subject must be zoology or fisheries science. However, it is not customary.
