Graduation

MSc Geophysics or Master of Science in Geophysics is a Post-Graduate Physics course. The study of the Earth using quantitative physical methods, particularly seismic, electromagnetic, and radioactive approaches, is known as geophysics and is a subfield of Earth sciences. The Geophysics course's curriculum has always included a well-balanced mix of material on the composition and structure of the earth as well as methods for looking for minerals, water, and oil. Geophysicists conduct field research, laboratory studies and experiments, data collection from satellites and instruments positioned hundreds of kilometers above the earth's surface, data processing and analysis using some of the most powerful supercomputers in the world, and well drilling at depths of thousands of meters.

MSc Geophysics Eligibility

  • Aspiring students should have passed a Bachelor of Science with Physics and Chemistry / Mathematics / Geology / Electronic Science or any other equivalent qualification in a relevant subject from a recognized University.
  • The candidates should have secured a minimum of 60% aggregate marks or equivalent in their Bachelor's.
  • Some of the very reputed universities and institutes conduct an entrance examination for admission.
