M.Sc. (Inorganic Chemistry)
Master of Science in Inorganic Chemistry
| Duration: | 2 Years |
| Level: | Post Graduation |
| Type: | Degree |
| Eligibility: | Graduation |
M.Sc. Inorganic Chemistry or Master of Science in Inorganic Chemistry is a postgraduate Chemistry course. Inorganic chemistry is the study of the synthesis and behaviour of inorganic and organ metallic compounds. It has applications in every aspect of the chemical industry–including catalysis, materials science, pigments, surfactants, coatings, medicine, fuel, and agriculture. Program focuses on the scientific study of the elements and their compounds, other than the hydrocarbons and their derivatives. Includes instruction in the characterization and synthesis of non-carbon molecules, including their structure and their bonding, conductivity, and reactive properties; research techniques such as spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, and photoelectron analysis; and the study of specific compounds, such as transition metals, and compounds composed of inorganic and organic molecules.
M.Sc. Inorganic Chemistry Eligibility
- Graduation in relevant subjects with at least 60% marks or equivalent CGPA.
- Some of the very reputed universities and institutes conduct entrance examination to get admission to the degree course.

M.Sc. Inorganic Chemistry Colleges
M.Sc. Inorganic Chemistry Course Suitability
- They should have operation monitoring such as watching gauges, dials or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
- They also possess Mathematical skills such as knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.
- Applicants should also have computers and electronics skills such knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
- They should also be self-dependence as the ob requires developing one's own ways of doing things, guiding oneself with little or no supervision, and depending on oneself to get things done.
How is M.Sc. Inorganic Chemistry Course Beneficial?
- The course is beneficial to prepare students for professional careers in chemistry and related fields in industry, government, and educational institutions.
- Programs in inorganic chemistry provide training in materials chemistry, kinetics and mechanism, organ metallic chemistry, and bioinorganic chemistry.
- Applicants can have employment in the pharmaceutical, agrochemical and oil industries, to the manufacture of detergents, cosmetics and explosives. Further work can also be found in government, health services and the media.
- They can also be employed in fields as diverse as the mining and microchip industries, environmental science, and education. Their work is based on understanding the behaviour and the analogues for inorganic elements, and how these materials can be modified, separated or used–often in product applications.
