Master of Prosthetics and Orthotics - MPO is a postgraduate Dentistry course which deals with the field of science and narrates the rehabilitation of physically handicapped individuals who suffer from limb malfunctions or abnormalities or absence or loss of limbs or other body parts. The duration of course is mostly two academic years but it varies from institute to institute. The Rehabilitation Council of India, New Delhi is providing in two years. The minimum time to complete the course is also two years. Course is available both in full time and part time basis. After passing the course, candidates have opportunities in various fields.

  • The marks of admission for this course vary from University to University. In various colleges and Universities, it conducts entrance exams for admission.

Based on their educational qualifications and professional experience P&O professionals may get posted as Technologists, Consultants, Prosthetists and Orthotists in the supervisory level, as Technicians or Assistants. With upgrading of skills and considerable amount of job experience they may become Head of the Department. Trained professionals can also start their own manufacturing and maintenance units.
