M.Tech Applied Mechanics or Master of Technology in Applied Mechanics is a two-year Post-Graduate Mechanical Engineering course. Applied Mechanics is a branch of the physical sciences and the practical application of mechanics. Applied mechanics examines the response of bodies (solids and fluids) or systems of bodies to external forces. In this Applied Mechanics program, candidates will study the design and development of mechanical components and production equipment and specialize in wind energy or coastal and maritime engineering.

The Master of Technology course in Applied Mechanics helps to participate in the development of new and better solutions for products, mechanical components, production equipment, and industrial plant. Candidates also obtain extensive knowledge of physical principles, the strength of structures, fluid flows, and energy conversion.

M.Tech Applied Mechanics Eligibility

  • Aspiring students should have passed a Bachelor of Engineering / Bachelor of Technology or equivalent degree from a recognized University.
  • The candidates should have secured a minimum of 50% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA in their Bachelor's.
  • Some of the very reputed universities and institutes conduct an entrance examination for admission.
