M.Tech Automobile Engineering or Master of Technology in Automobile Engineering is a two-year Post-Graduate Automobile Engineering course. Automobile or Automotive engineering deals with designing the vehicle, manufacturing new products/new vehicles, repairing, and servicing vehicles. The Master of Technology course in Automobile Engineering also deals with designing, developing, manufacturing, testing and repairing, and servicing automobiles such as cars, trucks, motorcycles, scooters, etc & the related sub-Engineering systems.

Automobile Engineering combines mechanical, electrical, electronic, software, and safety engineering components to provide the optimal balance of producing and developing autos. Product or Design Engineers, Development Engineers, and Manufacturing Engineers are the three basic types of automobile engineers.

Automobile engineers are primarily divided into three streams: production or design engineering focuses on design components, testing of parts, coordinating tests, and the system of a car; development focuses on vehicle performance, durability, and speed; and manufacturing focuses on the creation and assembly of automobile parts. The automotive engineering discipline is heavily reliant on research and the direct application of mathematical models and formulas.
