Doctor of Philosophy in History or  Ph.D. (History) is a doctorate programe.  The minimum duration of this program is 2 years and the maximum duration is 5 years. History is the study of written events and records of humanity. Understanding history leads to an understanding of mankind and gives insight into the future of our civilization. allows students to study some of the world's most historical people, events, and cultures. Students are empowered to see the big picture of how the world has evolved.

Doctor of Philosophy in History Eligibility

  • M.Phil Degree and a Post-Graduate degree in a relevant discipline with minimum 55% marks (50% for SC/ ST/ PH candidates) or an equivalent grade from a University or a recognised institution of higher training;
    OR
    Masters Degree in a relevant discipline with minimum 55% (50% for SC/ST/PH candidates) or an equivalent grade from a university or a recognised institution of higher learning and five years of teaching/industry/ administration/ professional experience at senior level.
  • Some reputed colleges and institutes do conduct entrance examination to get admission to their Ph.D. (History) degree course.
