Ph.D. Sociology or Doctor of Philosophy in Sociology is a Doctorate Sociology course. Sociology is the study of human cultures, communities and societies. The Ph.D. programme in sociology is based on advanced courses in research methods, statistical inference and sociological theory. Ph.D. Sociology Eligibility

  • Aspiring candidates should have passed an M.Phil. Degree and a Post-Graduate degree in a relevant discipline with minimum 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PH candidates) or an equivalent grade from a University or a recognised institution of higher training OR Masters Degree in a relevant discipline with minimum 55% (50% for SC/ST/PH candidates) or an equivalent grade from a university or a recognised institution of higher learning and five years of teaching/industry/administration/professional experience at senior level.
  • Some reputed colleges and institutes do conduct entrance examination to get admission to their Ph.D. (Sociology) degree course.
