Ph.D. Zoology or Doctor of Philosophy in Zoology is a Doctorate Zoology course. Zoology deals with the study of animals, their structure classifications and their existence in the environment. This field is divided into several sub-branches such as - the study of fish and their habitats - Ichthyology; study of birds - Ornithology; and study of mammals-mammalogy. The duration of the course three years and the course is taken up both after Master’s Degree (based on percentage criteria) in some cases and the other after M.Phil. Ph.D. Zoology Eligibility

  • Students should have had a master’s degree in a relevant discipline with minimum 55% (50 % for SC/ST/PH candidates) or an equivalent grade from a university or a recognized institution of higher learning and five years of teaching/industry/administration/professional experience at senior level.
  • Applicants who qualify UGC (NET/JRF)/CSIR(NET/JRF)/ICAR (JRF/SRF) examination/SLET/GATE/GPAT/ICAR hold teacher fellowship are exempted from Ph.D. entrance test.
