AFMC Entrance Exam 2013 - Armed Force Medical College entrance examination acronyms as AFMC entrance exam is taken on National level by the candidates of Medical stream in +2 for taking admission in Armed Forces Medical College Pune.
AFMC Entrance Exam Eligibility
Candidate must have passed qualifying examinations as a regular candidate with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken simultaneously and securing not less than 60% of the aggregate marks in these 3 science subjects taken together and not less than 50% marks in English and 50% marks in each of the science subjects.
They must have also passed an examination in Mathematics of the 10th standard.
Any other examination which in scope and standards is equivalent to the Higher Secondary Science/Pre-Professional/Pre-Medical Examination of Indian University/Board with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology including practical test in each of these Science subject.
Candidates who have appeared or will be appearing in qualifying examination upto 02 May, of the year may also apply. However, on selection, the admission will be subject to passing and meeting the eligibility criteria mentioned before.
Must have attained the age of 17yrs on 31st December of the year of application, but must not have attained the age of 22 years on that date and Not more than 24 years in case of candidates who have passed or are appearing in final B.Sc examinations.
Other Eligibility Conditions:
A candidate should be a citizen of India or be a subject of Nepal or Bhutan or a person of Indian origin migrated from Pakistan or any other foreign country with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Must be unmarried. Marrying during the course is not permitted.
Should be medically fit as per prescribed standards by the Govt. of India, Ministry of Defence.
Aspiring candidate has completed the age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before 31st December of the year of his/her admission to the 1st year M.B.B.S.
The upper age limit for AIIMS examination is 25 years (30 yrs in case of Scheduled Castes/Schedule Tribes/Other Backward Classes) as on 31st December of the year of the entrance examination.
Important:The following categories of Candidates are not eligible to apply:
Candidates who have passed in Domestic Science, Domestic Arithmetic, Lower Maths separately or in combination with other subjects like General Science, Social Studies in High School/Higher Secondary or equivalent examination.
Candidates who have passed only Pre-University/Pre-Degree (one year course) or Pre-Professional in Agriculture/Veterinary/Dental Examination.
Candidates who have passed the Pre-professional or equivalent qualifying examination as a Private candidate.
Candidates who have secured the requisite percentage but in subsequent attempts or compartment examination.
AFMC Entrance Exam Syllabus
The AFMC entrance exam contains general syllabus of relevant subjects from classes 11th and 12th under the 10+2 scheme/pre-medical/intermediate science or an equivalent examination of the State Education Board/Indian University.
AFMC Entrance Exam Pattern
AFMC competitive written examination will be of 2 hours duration and will have one paper comprising of 200 objective type questions in the following subjects:
Biology (Zoology and Botany)
Intelligence, Logic and Reasoning
English Language and Comprehension
Imp:- There is negative marking for every incorrect answer.
How to apply or AFMC Entrance Exam?
1. Aspiring candidates can purchase Prospectus and application forms on payment of Rs.250 in cash only at the General/Head/Central/Main Post Offices located at the under mentioned places before the specified dates. The list of places is :-
Note: While purchasing prospectus from above HPOs/GPOs candidates must ensure that they have received one copy of the Application Form also. Demand draft is NOT required to be sent along with these applications.
2. Application form and prospectus can also be downloaded from website:- www.afmc.nic.in. Such forms printed on A4 size glossy paper duly completed in all respect along with crossed demand draft for a sum of Rs. 250 (Rupees two hundred and fifty only) drawn in favour of “Commandant , AFMC , Pune” on any nationalised bank payable at Pune be forwarded to AFMC Pune so as to reach before the specified date. The candidate must write his/her name & registration number on the back of Demand Draft.
3. Prospectus and application forms can also be obtained by post from “Officer-in-Charge (Admission Cell), Armed Forces Medical College, Sholapur Road, Pune- 411 040” on payment of `. 250/- per copy, only by Bank Draft on any nationalized bank payable at Pune in favour of “Commandant, AFMC, Pune,” along with full postal address of the candidate typed neatly and clearly on two separate slips of paper (size 9 cms x 5 cms).
Candidates should ensure that the Demand Draft bears the code number of the issuing bank. The candidate must write his/her name & address on the back of the Demand Draft. The candidate should enclose an application for obtaining prospectus and application form giving his/her particulars and address and enclose a self addressed stamped envelope of good quality (Size 11”x13”). The envelope should be stamped for Rs. 60/-. Bank Drafts on any other banks other than nationalized banks, Money Orders, Cash or Postal Orders will not be accepted. Each request should be accompanied by a separate demand draft. Combined demand draft for more than one application will not be accepted. Request for prospectus to be sent by post will be accepted till specified dates only.
