What is BITSAT?
Birla Institute of Technology and Science admission test acronym as BITSAT is a computer based Online Test for admission to Integrated First Degree Programs to all the Integrated First Degree programmes of BITS, Pilani at the Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad campus of this deemed university. This university awards it own degrees.

What is the eligibility for taking BITSAT exam?
1.Candidates should have passed the 12th examination of 10+2 system from a recognized Central or State board or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics with minimum of aggregate 80% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects and at least 60% marks in each of the Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects with adequate proficiency in English.
2. Students who are appearing for 12th examination in 2009 or who have passed 12th Examination in 2008 only are eligible to appear in the BITSAT-2009 test.
3. Students who are presently studying in BITS at any of its campuses are not eligible to appear in BITSAT.

Note:- Guaranteed admission to all the students who obtained first ranks in their respective board examinations is given irrespective of their marks in BITSAT

What are the contents of the exam?

The test consists of four parts:
Part I: Physics
Part II: Chemistry
Part III: (a) English Proficiency and (b) Logical Reasoning
Part IV: Mathematics


What is the pattern of the Exam?
BITSAT test consists of 150 objective type questions with four options. Each correct answer fetches 3 marks, while there is penalty of 1 mark for each wrong answer. However no marks are awarded for unattempted questions. The number of questions in each part is as follows:-

There is no time limit for individual parts of the test. The candidate can go back and change any of his/her answers among the 150 questions.
If a candidate answers all the 150 questions (without skipping any question), the candidate will have an option of attempting 12 (twelve) extra questions, if there is still time left. These extra questions will be from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics / Biology only; four questions from each part. Further, once the candidate has opted for extra questions, he cannot go back for correction of any of the earlier answered 150 questions.

Important:-All the questions and instructions of the test will be in English only.

When this exam is normally held?
This exam is normally held on the third Saturday of November of every year.

What is the examination fee for taking the exam?
The examination fee for taking BITSAT exam is 1000/- for male candidates and 500/- for the female candidates.
BITSAT Application form can also be obtained by post from the Admissions Office, BITS, Pilani by sending a request on plain paper giving the candidate's name, and gender with complete postal address, accompanied by a crossed demand draft for Rs. 1100/- (Rs. 600/- for Female candidates).

How to make the payment for the exam fee?
Demand drafts should be drawn in favour of 'Birla Institute of Technology & Science' payable at State Bank of India, Pilani (code:11309) Or State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur, Pilani (Code: 10398) or UCO Bank, Vidya Vihar, Pilani (Code: 0150) Or ICICI Bank, Jhunjhunu (Code: 0799)
