HTET 2024 - Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test acronym as HTET is conducted by the Board of School Education Haryana for determining the eligibility of the candidates for appointment as a teacher at Elementary, Secondary and Senior Secondary levels in any of the schools recognized by the Department of School Education, Haryana. This test is conducted in accordance with these Guidelines and other rules/regulations/instructions/policies laid down by the National Council for Teacher Education/Department of School Education, Haryana.

Educational Qualification

For Becoming Teacher for Classes I-V: Primary Teacher

  • Aspiring students should have completed Senior Secondary or its equivalent with at least 50% marks and Passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed Or appearing in the final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002. OR
  • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). OR
  • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education). OR
  • Graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).

Note: Matric with Hindi/Sanskrit or Sr. Secondary / Graduation / Post Graduation with Hindi as one of the subjects.

Important

  • There will be a relaxation of 5% in minimum qualifying marks at Senior Secondary Level for Schedule Caste (SC)/Backward Class (BC)/Other Backward Class (OBC) and Differently abled candidates.
  • A diploma/degree course in teacher education recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) only shall be considered. However, in the case of Diploma in Education (Special Education), a course recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India.

For Becoming a Teacher for Classes VI-VIII: Trained Graduate Teacher

For TGT Social Studies

  • Aspiring students should have completed B.A./B.Com. and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education; OR
  • B.A / B.Com with at least 50% marks and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.); OR
  • B.A / B.Com with at least 45% marks and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard; OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B. El. Ed.); OR
  • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year BA/ B.Com Ed.; OR
  • B.A / B.Com at least 50% marks and 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education) OR
  • In the case of B.A / B.Com, in addition to English, a combination of at least two subjects with at least 50% marks in aggregate individually in the subjects during all the years of study out of the following:
    • Economics
    • Geography
    • History
    • Psychology
    • Political Science
    • Sociology

Note: At least History or Geography should have been for all three years of Graduation.

  • And, In the case of B.Ed, Social Studies is a teaching subject from a recognized university.

For TGT Science

  • Aspiring students should have completed B.Sc and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education; OR
  • B.Sc with at least 50% marks and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.); OR
  • B.Sc with at least 45% marks and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard; OR
  • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 year Bachelor in elementary education (B. El. Ed.); OR
  • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year B.Sc Ed.; OR
  • B.Sc with at least 50% marks and 1-year B.Ed (Special Education); OR
  • In the case of B.Sc, a combination of at least three subjects out of the following:
    • Botany
    • Chemistry
    • Mathematics
    • Physics
    • Zoology

Note: In the case of Hons. Degree, in any of the above-mentioned subjects, the candidate must have studied the other two subjects in the first and second year of the course.

  • In the case of B.Ed, Science as a teaching subject from a recognized university;

For TGT Mathematics

  • Aspiring students should have completed a B.A / B.Sc / B.Com with at least 50% marks in Mathematics as an elective subject and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education; OR
  • B.A / B.Sc /B.Com with at least 50% marks as well as in Mathematics as an elective subject and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.); OR
  • B.A / B.Sc / B.Com with at least 45% marks as well as 50% marks in Mathematics as an elective subject and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard; OR
  • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 year Bachelor in elementary education (B. El. Ed); OR
  • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year BA / B.Sc / B.Com Ed. or BAEd / B.Sc. Ed / B.Com. Ed.; OR

  • B.A with at least 50% marks as well as in Sanskrit as an elective subject and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.); OR
  • B.A with at least 45% marks as well as 50% marks in Sanskrit as an elective subject and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard; OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 years Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.); OR
  • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year BA Ed.; OR

  • Aspiring students should have completed a B.A with at least 50% marks in Punjabi as an elective subject and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education; OR
  • B.A with at least 50% marks as well as in Punjabi as an elective subject and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed); OR
  • B.A with at least 45% marks as well as 50% marks in Punjabi as an elective subject and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard; OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B. El. Ed); OR
  • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year BA Ed.; OR
  • B.A with at least 50% marks as well as in Punjabi as an elective subject and 1-year B.Ed (Special Education); OR

For TGT Urdu

  • Aspiring students should have completed a B.A with at least 50% marks in Urdu as an elective subject and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education; OR
  • B.A with at least 50% marks as well as in Urdu as an elective subject and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed); OR
  • B.A with at least 45% marks as well as 50% marks in Urdu as an elective subject and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard; OR
  • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B. El. Ed); OR Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 year BA Ed; OR
  • B.A with at least 50% marks as well as in Urdu as an elective subject and 1-year B.Ed (Special Education); OR
  • In the case of B.Ed, Urdu as a teaching subject from a recognized university; Matric with Hindi / Sanskrit or 10+2 / B.A / M.A with Hindi as one of the subjects.

For TGT Physical Education

  • Aspiring students should have completed a Graduate with a Bachelor of Physical Education (B.P.Ed.) or equivalent from a recognized University; Matric with Hindi / Sanskrit or 10+2 / B.A / M.A with Hindi as one of the subjects;

For TGT Home Science

  • Aspiring students should have completed a B.Sc. Home Science and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education; OR
  • B.Sc Home Science with at least 50% marks and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed); OR
  • B.Sc Home Science with at least 45% marks and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard; OR
  • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 year Bachelor in elementary education (B. El. Ed.); OR
  • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 years BA / B.Sc Ed.; OR
  • B.Sc Home Science with at least 50% marks and 1-year B.Ed (Special Education); OR
  • In the case of B.A, at least 50% marks in Home Science as one of the elective subjects; OR

  • M.Sc Zoology / Botany / Bio-Science / Bio-Chemistry / Genetics / Micro- Biology / Plant Pathology / Biotechnology / Life Science / Molecular Bio with at least 50% marks from a recognized university and B.Ed from a recognized university;
  • Matric with Hindi / Sanskrit or Sr. Secondary / Graduation / Post Graduation with Hindi as one of the subjects.
  • Consistent good academic record

(xiv) PGT Physics

  • M.Sc Physics / Applied Physics / Nuclear Physics / Electronics Physics with at least 50% marks and B.Ed. from a recognized university;
  • Matric with Hindi/Sanskrit or Sr. Secondary / Graduation / Post Graduation with Hindi as one of the Subjects.
  • Consistent good academic record

(xv) PGT Chemistry

  • M.Sc Chemistry or Bio-Chemistry with at least 50% marks from a recognized university and B.Ed. from a recognized university;
  • Matric with Hindi / Sanskrit or Sr. Secondary / Graduation / Post Graduation with Hindi as one of the Subjects.
  • Consistent good academic record.

(xvi) PGT Mathematics

  • M.A / M.Sc Math/Applied Mathematics with Mathematics as one of the subjects at the Graduation level with at least 50% marks from a recognized university and B.Ed from a recognized university;
  • Matric with Hindi/Sanskrit or Sr. Secondary / Graduation / Post Graduation with Hindi as one of the Subjects.
  • Consistent good academic record.

(xvii) PGT Commerce

  • M.Com with Accounting / Cost Accounting / Financial Accounting as a major subject of study with at least 50% marks and B.Ed from a recognized university. Holders of a degree of M.Com in Applied / Business Economics shall not be eligible;
  • Matric with Hindi / Sanskrit or Sr. Secondary / Graduation / Post Graduation with Hindi as one of the Subjects.
  • Consistent good academic record.

(xviii) PGT Economics

  • M.A Economics / Applied Economics / Business Economics with at least 50% marks and B.Ed. from a recognized university;
  • Matric with Hindi / Sanskrit or Sr. Secondary / Graduation / Post Graduation with Hindi as one of the Subjects.
  • Consistent good academic record.

Note:

  • Relaxation of 5% in minimum qualifying marks at BA / B.Sc / B.Com / Senior Secondary level is admissible for SC and Differently abled Candidates.
  • A degree course in teacher education recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) only shall be considered.
  • However, in the case of B.Ed (Special Education), a course recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) only shall be considered.

The aspiring candidate must have a Master’s Degree OR equivalent examination from an institution recognized by U.G.C with at least 55% (50% Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/Physically Handicapped (PH)/Visually Handicapped (VH) category) marks.

Candidates who have appeared OR are appearing at the qualifying Master's Degree (final year) examination and whose result is still awaited OR candidates whose qualifying examinations have been delayed may also apply for this Test. 

However, such candidates will be admitted provisionally and shall be considered eligible for an award of Lectureship eligibility only after they have passed their Master's Degree examination or equivalent with the prescribed eligible % of marks.

 

HTET 2024 Syllabus

HTET will consist of questions on the topics given below:

Child Development & Pedagogy

The test items on Child Development and Pedagogy will focus on the educational psychology of teaching and learning relevant to the age group.

They will focus on understanding the characteristics and needs of diverse learners, interaction with learners, and the attributes and qualities of a good facilitator of learning.

Language I (Hindi) 

  • The Test items for Language-I (Hindi) will focus on the proficiencies related to the medium of instruction.

Language II (English)

  • Language II (English) will focus on the elements of language, communication, and comprehension abilities.

The specific subject selected by the candidate

  • The test items in subject-specific will focus on the concepts, problem-solving abilities, and pedagogical understanding of these subjects.
  • The test items shall be evenly distributed over different divisions of the syllabus of that subject as prescribed for respective classes by the Board of School Education Haryana. 

Mathematics and Science

  • The test items in Mathematics and Environmental Studies will focus on the concepts, problem-solving abilities, and pedagogical understanding of the subjects.
  • In all these subject areas, the test items shall be evenly distributed over different divisions of the syllabus of that subject prescribed for respective classes by the Education Department, Govt. of Haryana.

 

HTET 2024 Pattern

  • All questions in HTET will be multiple-choice questions.
  • Each carries one mark, with four alternatives out of which one answer will be correct.
  • There shall be no negative marking.

HTET Validity

HTET qualifying certificate for appointment will be valid for a period of 5 years from the date of issue.

 

HTET Number of Attempts

  • There is no restriction on the number of attempts a person can take for acquiring an HTET Certificate.
  • Candidates who have already qualified STET will have the option to appear in the fresh HTET to improve their score if they so desire. 
  • Candidates who have qualified STET/ HTET can improve their performance in it.

 

How to apply for HTET 2024?

Aspiring candidates should follow the steps mentioned below.

  • Access/Login the website of the Board (www.hbse.ac.in OR www.htet.nic.in)and follow the instructions as mentioned under “Instructions and Procedure for online application”.
  • It is advised that the candidates should mention their name, father’s name, mother’s name, and date of birth as mentioned on their certificate of Secondary Examination. Mentioning Roll No. of Secondary Examination, Year of qualifying Secondary examination, and Name of the Board is essential.
  • Proceed for remittance of examination fee through e-challenges per instructions given on the aforesaid website of the Board and the details of remittance of the fee should be mentioned per instruction of the online system. v) Take two copies of the printout of the “Confirmation Page”.
  • Keep reserve a copy of the printout for future reference/record.
  • Candidates are required to deposit the Board’s copy of the e-challan, attested copy of the certificate of Secondary examination, and a copy of the “Confirmation Page” after putting their signatures, appending a thumb impression and affixing a recent colored passport size photograph (as uploaded) at the appropriate place prescribed on the “Confirmation Page” at the respective District Coordination Centres of the Board.
  • Such candidates who are unable to deposit the above said documents (Confirmation page etc.) at the District Coordination Centre, should send the same only through Registered/Speed Post in an envelope of size 12”x9” superscribing thereon
  • “APPLICATION FOR HTET- LEVEL _____” so as to reach the Secretary, Board of School Education, Haryana, Hansi Road, Bhiwani – 127021.
  • Online submission of multiple applications and a “Confirmation Page” for a particular Level to the Board will be viewed seriously. Candidature of such candidates shall be liable to be canceled and the candidate may be debarred for future examination (s) without making any correspondence in this regard.

 

HTET Admit Card Availability

  • Admit Card (To be downloaded from the Board's Website)will not be sent by post. Every eligible candidate may download his/her admit card from the website (www.hbse.ac.in or www.htet.nic.in) with effect from ---- onwards and appear in the examination at the allotted examination center.
  • After taking a printout of “Roll No./Admit Card”, go through the particulars, etc. and if any discrepancy in the particulars of the candidate or his/her photograph and signatures is noticed, the candidate should immediately contact the Special Examination Branch of the Board and get the same corrected.
  • The exact place and name of the center for the test shall be mentioned on the admit card.
  • No candidate will be permitted to appear from the center other than the one allotted to him/her. No request for a change of center will be entertained under any circumstances.
  • If any candidate unlawfully appears from a center other than the one allotted, his/her candidature will be rejected out rightly and the result will be quashed without entering into any correspondence with him/her in this regard whatsoever.
  • Such eligible candidate who does not find his/her admit card on the Board’s website (www.hbse.ac.in OR www.htet.nic.in) may contact personally the “Special Examination Branch” of the Board’s office at Bhiwani for this purpose at least two days prior to the date of examination during usual office hours i.e. 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
  • He/She would be required to bring with him/her adequate proofs i.e. Photostat copy of Computer Generated Application form (“Confirmation Page”), a copy of payment challan in support of having deposited examination fee, and an attested copy of the certificate of having qualified Secondary(Xth Class) examination, two copies of the photograph as uploaded on the Application Form and also adequate proof of having deposited/sent the “Confirmation Page”.
  • No candidate will be admitted to the Examination center unless he/she produces a valid Admit Card having his/her photograph printed on it.
  • In case a candidate does not download his/her Roll No. and does not appear in person at the Board’s Headquarters (Bhiwani) up to one day before the date of examination, his/her request for issue of Roll No. will not be considered and he/she will not be permitted to appear in the examination without valid admit card.
