What is GMAT?
Graduate Management Admission test acronym as GMAT is conducted by the US-based Pearson VUE under the direction of the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC), an organization of graduate business schools worldwide. It is a Standardized test that measures verbal, mathematical and analytical writing skills of the young aspirants to help the graduate schools of business assess the potential of applicants for advanced study in business and management institutes. Nearly 900 management institutes all over the world (most of them in the US) require GMAT scores from each applicant The GMAT tests the fundamental skills - Reasoning and Comprehension included - and does not require any subject-specific theoretical study.

What is the eligibility for taking GMAT exam?
Anyone and everyone are eligible for taking the GMAT irrespective of age or qualification.

What are the contents and the pattern of the exam?
The test has three distinct sections:
1. Analytical Writing Ability (AWA):- (i) Analysis of an Issue (ii)Analysis of an Argument

2. Quantitative: - The Quantitative section has two types of questions:-
(i) Problem Solving and
(ii) Data Sufficiency mingled throughout the section.

3. Verbal:-The Verbal Section has three types of questions:-
(i) Sentence Correction
(ii) Critical Reasoning and
(iii) Reading Comprehension

There are a total of 78 questions, 37 in Quantitative and 41 in Verbal. These have to be done in 75 minutes each. Topic has to be written in 30 minutes each

However changes can also made in the total number of questions and the time duration.

When this exam is normally held?
This exam is held all around the year in fact one can choose his own date and time for taking the exam as it is a totally online test. September to December is the high season for GMAT, so in case you intend to take the test during this period, you need to register very early (say 90 days in advance) to get a date of your choice. Otherwise, registering at least 15 days in advance is mandatory.

What is the duration of the exam?
The GMAT test lasts roughly four hours, and most centers offer two slots : 9 A.M. and 2 P.M.

What is the validity period of the GMAT exam?
The test scores are valid for five years for most of the university. But it is always prudent to have scores not more than 2 years old.

What is the examination fee for taking the exam?
The fee to take the Graduate Management Admission Test® (GMAT) is US$250 worldwide. You will incur taxes when you schedule an exam in certain countries.
