What is MAT?

Centre for Management Services (CMS) is the specialized division of AIMA undertaking testing and other management services. All India Management Aptitude Testing Services (AIMATS) facilitating academia, industry and government to screen and select candidates for higher studies, recruitment, promotion etc. Hundreds of organizations and lakhs of candidates have availed these services. Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is usually conducted four times in a year in January, May, September and December. This test is taken by the students for taking admission to certain associated management institutes.

What is the eligibility for taking MAT exam?
The minimum qualification for appearing in MAT is graduation in any discipline from any recognized University or equivalent. A final year student in any undergraduate course (i.e. B.A, B.Sc., B.Com, B. Tech, etc) can also appear provisionally. Usually, there is a minimum percentage requirement in graduation, which is different for different MI’s/University. For this refer to the prospectus of the particular MI’s/University.

What are the contents of the exam?
The main contents of the MAT exam are:
Language Comprehension
Mathematical Skills
Data Analysis and Sufficiency
Intelligence and Critical Reasoning
Indian and Global Environment

What is the pattern of the Exam?
MAT is an objective type test with multiple-choice answers. The test is designed to measure a person’s general aptitudes as the following table indicates:

When this exam is normally held?

Mat is usually conducted 4 times in a year in February, May, September and December.

What is the validity of MAT score?
Validity of the MAT score is for that particular session for most Management Institutes except AIMA - CME’s PGDM & PGDITM programmes, for which the score is valid for one year.

What is the examination fee for taking the exam?
At Present the cost of a MAT bulletin is Rs. 980/- by cash across the AIMA, New Delhi counter/ Select UTI Bank branches/ AIMA Nodal Centres all over India and Rs.1050/- against Demand Draft (DD) by post. DD should be made in favor of AIMA-CMS, payable at New Delhi.

What are the test centers for taking the exam?
MAT is conducted in all major cities in the country and in leading cities abroad.
