RD Exam - Registered Dietitian Exam
RD Exam 2013 - Registered Dietitian Exam acronym as RD Exam is taken every year by Indian Dietetic Association to award registration to applicants who successfully qualify in it. Passing of RD Exam is mandatory for those candidates who want to become Registered Dietician in India.
Registered Dietitian Exam Eligibility
Educational Qualification
The aspiring candidate should have done Graduation in Nutrition & Dietitian or Post Graduate Diploma in Nutrition & Dietitian or Master’s Degree in Nutrition & Dietitian.
Internship and Experience
Candidates should have completed six months internship (after completion of qualifying exam) in a multi-specialty hospital recognized by IDA for internship (as per the hospital list on the website) & supervised by a Registered Dietician (RD) or a senior dietician with at least 10 years experience.
The internship can be done continuously or in two installments of two to four months each with a break of not more than six weeks. The internship should be completed before 31st August of the year of applying for the RD Exam. Or
Candidate should have two years experience as a full time Dietician in a multi-specialty hospital of minimum 150 beds.
Note: Internship certificate Should clearly state dietetic internship / training done, dates of starting and completing internship and signed by the Supervising dietitian (RD).
Other Eligibility Conditions
The aspiring candidate should have six months Life Membership of Indian Dietetic Association.
Important: Candidate should fulfill all the eligibility conditions by 31st August of the year of applying for the RD Exam.

Registered Dietitian Exam Pattern
Registered Dietitian Exam consists of two test papers each (having three section each) of two hours duration as given below:

Important: The candidates are required to obtain 50% for qualifying, and a minimum of 45% for each paper.

Registered Dietitian Exam Fee
Registered Dietitian Exam Fee is Rs.500 which has to be deposited by way of Demand Draft to a Central Bank or any Nationalized bank in favor of "Chairperson, IDA Registration Board" payable at Vellore. (To be sent by courier or speed post or registered post).
