Governance

Rayat-Bahra Group of institutions is a private set up where every institution is board-governed whose board members include representatives of the public, staff, faculty, and students. Overall governance follows a Corporate hierarchical structure with due freedom to perform as per the portfolios assigned to the team of Directors at different levels of organisation. Team work, delegation of authority, a sense of ownership and transparency is the hall-mark of Rayat-Bahra

During last one decade or so when technical and professional education in the country has undergone a metamorphosis with private managements and entrepreneurs stepping in, to shoulder the responsibility of meeting the exponentially increasing market need of the professionals, Rayat–Bahra has emerged as one of the pioneer groups  , targeting to give to the world well groomed  professionals. Throughout its short history, Rayat-Bahra has remained grounded in the belief that the education is the most important driver of economic growth and that the human beings have infinite potential to contribute to the growth and development of society. This gives purpose to life and leads to success emanating from spiritual maturity.

Achievements of the Group

2001 – Rayat Engineering Institute at Ropar (Punjab) is founded by two young energetic men – Nirmal Singh Rayat and Gurvinder Singh Bahra to prepare young engineering graduates for the job market.

2003 – Ropar becomes the Information technology campus; Institute of Management, Law, Pharmacy, Education are added to Rayat Campus for degree classes. The college expands to include Polytechnic College to cater to diploma courses.

2005 – Bio-technology campus with institutes in all the five disciplines is set up at Mohali(Punjab). Rayat–Bahra enters into K-12 segment of education with its first school at Ropar.

2007 – The Institute of Physical Education is established at Ropar Campus. The Hotel Management Institute is added to Mohali campus. Also Rayat Bahra Engineering College of Bio-technology adds a management wing to its already existing disciplines.

 2009 – Nano-technology campus with nine institutions in the disciplines of Engineering, Management, Pharmacy, Law, Education is established at Hoshiarpur. Women colleges of Engineering are set up at Biotechnology & Nano technology Campuses.

2010 – A senior secondary wing of Science stream affiliated with Punjab school Education Board is added to each of the three campuses.

Today, Rayat-Bahra program offerings include undergraduate and graduate degree programs. In addition to its degree programs, Rayat-Bahra offers work programs as well as diploma and certificate programs in Career Development and academic upgrading programs.

Rayat-Bahra campuses are the expansive communities away from the busy urban centers. Being residential, they offer excellent opportunities of community living. Our Information Technology campus at Ropar is tucked away in a serene setting against the backdrop of shivalik hills and overlooking the beautiful Bhakra dam canal, about fifteen minutes from downtown by public or private transportation. Spread over 150 acres of land, it's the best of both worlds: a peaceful locale within easy reach of the amenities of city center. Ropar is a diverse, multicultural city of most prosperous state of Punjab in the north of India, which enjoys a high quality of life amid an abundance of arts, old historic monuments and entertainment events.

Rayat-Bahra Bio-technology centre at Mohali spread over 100 acres of land, is about 15 kms away from the Mohali Urban centre. Being part of the tricity, Mohali enjoys a unique status amongst the presitigious locales of Punjab state. It is the hub of educational activity in the northern region of India that attracts students and faculty from all across the country.

Our Nano-technology Campus at Hoshiarpur is the much sought after place for the students of Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. Being close to this inter-state border and situated at a locale, which has been an education dry zone with respect to the availability of opportunities for higher education, the Rayat-Bahra campus has come to be known as the education city of the area. Situated on the Highway, about 10 kms from the city centre, it is easily accessible by private and public transport. It has been  attracting all those intellectual faculty members of the region who had migrated to other regions of the world in the absence of opportunities to work.  Hoshiarpur is a typical Punjab town, deeply immersed in the culture and historic traditions of the state; there is a lot to explore and enjoy.
