Digital Photographer

Digital Photographer is a computer based photography trade. The duration of the trade is one year with two semesters of six months each. During the class work, students are taught that how to use the existing and emerging technology of digital photography to create more accurate and colourful images and its related other many crucial aspects of photography. Trade is an important and good which gives jobs to so many students after successful passing. There are many ITIs in the country offering this trade due to its proved or emerging widespread importance in photography world.

 

Digital Photographer Trade Eligibility

  • Students are required to have a pass certificate of 10th class from a recognized school board in the country.

Introduction to Computer Fundamentals

Digital editing by using bit map and vector based image editing software. Ability of taking printouts of photographs taken by a digital camera from computer printer. Concept of image transportation to storage media. Practice of sending photographs through internet, sending photographs through E-mail and printing and analysis of images.

Ability to scan photographs and capture frames

Handling of digital video cameras, Tape, DVD, HDD and accessories. Types of common shots and movements. Dimension of images.

Trade Theory

Importance of safety and general precautions observed in the trade by the Institution. Care & maintenance of equipments & material. Introduction to photography and its applications. Introduction to Cameras.

Understanding visual communication and aesthetic in Photography. Theory of light and sources. Colour - temperature & colour balance.

Exposure, Conception of aperture, shutter speed, depth o f field. Lens and its accessories. Knowledge of different types of lenses & their uses. Covering power/ angle, aberrations of lens, perspective. Use of lens hood, tripod, self timer

Knowledge of image editing software. Knowledge of different types of printing media, for hard copy. Knowledge of different types of printer in respect of their resolution

  • Students should have habit of working with clients to discuss the images they require and how they want to use them; seeking out appropriate photographic subjects and opportunities.
  • They should be capable of working in different locations and in different circumstances to get the right image.
  • They should be able to communicate with photographic subjects, putting them at ease, encouraging them and directing them.
  • They should have good social dealing and able to develop a good portfolio, building a network of contacts and achieving a reputation for quality and reliability in order to secure future assignments.
