Driver Mechanic (Light Motor Vehicle) is a mechanical driving vocational trade. The duration of trade is six months with one semester. During the trade they are introduced that how to drive and repair manage vehicles in order to ensure constant availability for official duties at all times. They are recruited for Motor Driver-Cum Mechanics in various Offices/GDCs in the country. There are many ITIs in the country providing trade in this subjects matter. After passing it they have good scope in various driving forms at different places both government and private.

 

Driver cum Mechanic (Light Motor Vehicle) Trade Eligibility

Students should be passed in 10th class examination from a recognised school board in the country and minimum 18 years of age at the time.

Driver cum Mechanic (Light Motor Vehicle) Trade Required Skills

  • They should have skills like maintaining vehicles clean and mechanically sound and carry out routine checks on the vehicles before starting off-tyre pressure, fuel levels and engine fluids etc.
  • They should be able to assist people getting in and out of the car and with luggage where necessary.
  • They should be hard worker as they have to repair and maintenance of vehicles-completing preventive maintenance i.e. engine tune ups, oil changes, tyre rotation and changes, replacing filters etc.

 

How is Driver cum Mechanic (Light Motor Vehicle) Trade Beneficial?

  • After passing the trade they are able to identify different vehicles and units on them; wash and clean vehicles; lubricate vehicles.
