Cabinet committee on Economic Affairs approved a health ministry proposal for 5,000 new PG medical seats to strengthen and upgrade state government medcial colleges. The state medical colleges will now get Central funding under the XIth plan to start new PG disciplines and also increase PG seats.The approval will result in additional 5,000 seats in 148 state government run collages throughout the country.
