Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed that students will no longer have to attest documents to their applications; a self-certification would be enough in this regard.

The decision has been conveyed to Vice Chancellors of universities across the country to take immediate steps for implementing the orders. The authorities at universities have been given a week's time to comply with the directions.

This will ease the admission process for students and those appearing in the written examination as there will be no need of getting documents attested from gazetted officers. Certificates such as mark sheets, birth certificates, and domicile certificates would have to be get approved from officials which will lessen the burden over the students.
