It is the Nurse who holds the most beautiful creation of the God ie The Human Being in her hands before the person (the Mother-an incarnation of the God itself on the earth) who is giving birth to him/her.

Profession of Nursing like Doctor’s and Teacher’s is one such profession whose services cannot be compensated with any amount of money. Nobility of this profession can be felt from the word “Nurse” itself which was originally used and is being used with the most sacred relation of Mother and her child. Like we say that a mother nurses her child till she breathes her last. In this sense we can say that Nurse is one step ahead then the mother as she/he does not think that struggling life of the patient to whom she is paying his utmost devotion is her/his child or not. She does not care about the age, cast, creed or the deeds of the life to which she is asked to take care of. She feels that the creation of almighty God which is in pain is to be relieved of it in any case. In some sense nurse may also be considered more indispensable to the Doctor whom she is assisting in doing this noble job. Although it is hundred percent truth that it is the doctor who can save a life by providing his timely service but the fact that doctor can get rid a patience of his ailment but he cannot get rid him of the pain the patience he has to undergo during the period of services provided and the time till the healing process is over can not be avoided either. In true sense the real role of the nurse starts when the role of doctor nearly ends. It is she who has to be with the patient till he again stands on his/her feet after full recovery. Here she plays the role of a mother to her patience. She tries to alleviate every suffering and pains from the patient. She is the one who may have to play the role of a healer to not only one but so many patients at one time. She may have to work for 24 hours emergency condition. Although it a tough ask but the person who are engaged in this profession does not feel so, as this profession give them the mental satisfaction when the patience they have taken care of stands on their feet and go back to their family blessing them for their fast recovery.

To do this work tirelessly with all the affection and devotion one requires a lot of hard work, devotion and above all patience. This is the profession in which a person has to have dual character, on the one side one has to be strong hearted to feel the heat of reality when her services will not be enough to save the life of a human being and her devotion will not be able to send a patience to his home and on the other side she has to be quite soft hearted so that she could handle the patients of every nature and kind as some time she may have to bear the burnt of the allying patients as well as their relative when she has to handle them in some unusual conditions. She has also to maintain the right balance toward her profession as well as her domestic duties toward his own kids and family as both are attached with the emotion of a single person that is the nurse itself.

Although not held in high esteem in the recent past but now this profession is gaining full respect in the society not in terms of a good profession but also they are now getting good remuneration in lieu of the services they are providing to the society .The scope of nursing as a profession is increasing with fast pace with the aware ness among the masses about their health care activities.

To discharge their duties with utmost perfection the prospective Nurse required professional knowledge about the filed and condition they are going to work in the coming time. For that the need proper knowledge and training in their respective field which can only be achieved by doing professionally designed courses. So to be in this profession who has to undergo one of more of the ahead given courses?


To Join Nursing as a carrier one has to undergo one or more of the following Courses

1. B.Sc Nursing

Eligibility
1. Educational Qualification
To be eligible to join B.Sc Nursing a Bachelor degree one should be 10+2 with Biology, Physics and Chemistry as main subject with 50% marks for some highly rated collages providing this course.

Step 1
Interested candidate has to appear in an entrance tests conducted by the various state and Independent medical educational bodies to admit candidates in various teaching institutions attached with it according to the rank of the candidate in the entrance exam.

These exams are usually held in the month of May-June and consists of Objective type questions based on the subject of relevant subjects the results of these exams are generally out by June/July


However some colleges also give admission on the basis of % of marks obtained in the qualifying class


Step 2
After completing this 3-4 years of course in which one has to go through all the major aspects of the field of study-Apart from the theoretical part, Nurses also go through practical training courses in the attached Hospitals- one can opt. for some job is private or state run Nursing homes or Hospital as junior/Assistant Nurse.

Fees and Other Expenditures: Although varying from college to college, the total course fee for a Nursing course ranges from any where near 30 thousands at a government college to around Rs 1 Lakh in private institutes.

2. General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM)

Eligibility
1. Educational Qualification

To be eligible to join General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) one should be 10+2 with Biology, Physics and Chemistry as main subject with at least 50% marks for some highly rated collages providing this course.

Step 1
Interested candidate has to appear in an entrance tests conducted by the various state and Independent medical educational bodies to admit candidates in various teaching institutions attached with it according to the rank of the candidate in the entrance exam.

After completing this 3-1/2 along with compulsory practical training one can opt. for some job is private or state run Nursing homes or Hospital as junior/Assistant Nurse.

3. Auxiliary Nurse Midwife/ Health Worker (ANM)

Eligibility
1. Educational Qualification
To be eligible to join Auxiliary Nurse Midwife/ Health Worker (ANM) course one should be 10th class pass.

Step 1
Interested candidate has to apply for this in the respective institutions and on the availability of the seats candidates are admitted in this course. In case of more candidates then the no of seats percentage of marks in the 10th class is given priority.

Step 2
After completing this 18 month long basically practically oriented training one can join a private or state run Health care centre or Hospital as health care assistant .
Fees and Other Expenditures: Although varying from college to college, the total course fee of this course ranges from any where near 3-4 thousands at a government college to around Rs 10 thousand

How ever some government agencies provide this course free of cost to the experienced untrained workers already working in this field to improve their knowledge and expertise.


4. M.Sc Nursing

Eligibility
1. Educational Qualification

To be eligible to join M.Sc. Nursing a Master’s degree one should be B.Sc. Nursing.

Step 1
Interested candidate has to appear in an entrance tests conducted by the University and various independent medical educational bodies to admit candidates in M.Sc. Nursing it according to the rank of the candidate in the entrance exam.

However some universities/institutions also give admission on the basis of % of marks obtained in the qualifying exams.

Step 2
After completing this 2 years of course one can go for some job is private or state run Nursing homes or Hospital as staff Nurse.

Fees and Other Expenditures: Although varying the total course fee for a M.Sc Nursing course ranges from any where near 30 thousands to 50 thousands
However few deserving candidates are also provided with scholarships at this level and their tuitions fees are exempted as a reward for their hard work. So experienced graduate nurses are also given chance to do this course by their respective employers on their expenses.

With increasing healthcare awareness among the masses and general development of the medical services the area of scope for nursing professionals in this field is widening at fast rate. So we can foresee a wider scope for these professional both in terms of monetary as well as other remunerations. One can get any thing near 3500-40000 to start with and go upto 8,000-10,000 with experience and expertise in the field.

Another scope for nursing professional is that they can also take up private independent assignments of healthcare from some well to do persons who need their services during the time of recovery after an ailment at their place and charge as much as 20 to 25 thousands according to their skill and demand in the health care sector.
