  • To discharge his duties with efficiency a Sales Manager must be up-to-date on current products and services, their cost prices etc.
  • They should be able to advise correctly customers and take care of their needs when it is necessary.
  • They also possess good interpersonal and communication skills; team-work skills and other managerial skills.
  • They must be good at the English language, if they having knowledge of many languages then it is a plus point for them.

 

How to become a Sales Manager?

Step 1

Interested candidates have to join one or both of the above-given courses through some college of repute like IIM's etc. For that, they may have to compete in an entrance exam taken by the institutes like CAT, MAT etc.

However, some institute provides admission on first come first basis or merit basis of the qualifying exam.

Step 2

After acquiring the requisite qualification the aspirants can apply for the post of Assistant Sales Manager in some national or multinational company’s retail outlets to gain some on the job experience.

After gaining some on job experience one can expect as good as Rs.25,000 to Rs.30,000 in the multinational organization and even get more than that depending upon individuals experience and abilities.
