Statistician Eligibility

They should be 12th class pass or equivalent examination securing a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate with Statistics as one of the subjects.

  • Statistician should possess good IT skills, numerical skills, analytical skills, written and verbal communication skills.
  • They also have good self-confidence, good interpersonal skills.
  • They should also be able to assess results, analysing trends, applying statistical methodology to complex data and acting in a consultancy capacity.

  • B.Sc. Statistics

Eligibility

Educational qualification:-

Candidates who wish to apply for B.Sc. Statistics should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination securing a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate in the subjects Physics, Mathematics plus any one of the following: Chemistry, Statistics, and Computer Science.

Step 1

Interested candidate has to appear in an entrance test conducted by the various Universities providing 3 years of B.Sc. Statistics degree courses in the colleges affiliated with them.

However some colleges/universities also give admission on the basis of % of marks obtained in the qualifying class

Step 2

After completing this 3 years of course in which one has to go through all the major aspects, one can take up jobs in private or public sector as a statistician like Statistical Survey of India etc. or start his own business of providing statistical data required by any organization. Besides taking up a job one can also go for the higher studies like M.Sc., Ph.D. etc.

  • M.Sc. Statistics

Eligibility

Educational qualification:-

To get admission to M.Sc. courses students who have passed B.Sc. / B.A., with Mathematics/ Statistics as one of the subjects or has passed B.Sc. in Computer Science with minimum 50 % marks in aggregate, are eligible.

Step 1
