This is a noble profession that helps not only to enhance your physical well-being but also help others improve their health. The only requirement to be a good yoga teacher is to have well organized knowledge about the yoga along with proper instruction and regular practice. Yoga Teacher (Certificate in Yoga Education)
In this residential course of one month duration, Yoga Pravesh, Yoga Parichaya, Yoga Pravesh teacher, Yoga Pravesh Examiner and organising of Yoga classes are the subjects taught.
Yoga Adhyapaka (Diploma in Yoga Education)
After getting teacher certificate one has to pass 'Yoga Pravina' and 'Yoga Parichaya Teacher' courses. This also is a residential one month duration course.
Yoga Pradhyapaka (Bachelor in Yoga Education).
Having undergone three sessions of Yoga Pandita and training of Teacher for Praveen calsses a student is awarded the degree of Yoga Pradhyapak (B.Y.Ed)
B.Ed (Yoga): Specialized one year course in yoga
Yoga Teacher Eligibility
1. Educational Qualification
To be eligible to join B.Ed (yoga) on should be a graduate with 60% marks(for some institute of repute)
How to become a Yoga Teacher?
Step 1
Interested candidate has to appear in an entrance tests conducted by the various state and Independent educational bodies to admit candidates in various teaching institutions attached with it according to the rank of the candidate in the entrance exam.
These exams are generally held in the month of May-June and consists of Objective type questions on the subject of English, General Knowledge, Aptitude, Basic Arithmetic Teaching Potential and one local language in some states.
The results of these exams are generally out by June/July
Step 2
After completing this one year’s course in which one has to go through all the major aspects of the yoga. (Apart from the theory part, yoga teachers also go through practical training courses).One can either join some institute as a yoga teacher or may persue for higher education in this field.
Fees and Other Expenditures: Although varying from institute to institute, the total course fee ranges from anywhere from between 10 thousands at a government college to around Rs.25 thousand and even higher in private yoga institutes.
