Who is the first double amputee to compete in Olympic Games?



Oscar Pistorius became the first double amputee to compete on the track at Olympic Games on 4th August 2012. He finished second in his men's 400 metres heat with a season's best time. The 25-year-old South African is nicknamed 'Blade Runner' as he races wearing carbon fibre prosthetic blades. He was born without a fibula in both legs.
