About J.C BOSE University of Science and Technology (YMCA UST )

Y.M.C.A. University of Science and Technology is a state university located in Faridabad, Haryana, India. It was established in 1969. It is set up as an Indo-German project, a joint venture of the National Council of YMCAs of India, the Government of Haryana and the Central Agencies for Development Aid, Bonn, Germany. It started as an Indo-German project with an aim to impart Technical Education to a developing India on German pattern. The Institute has been granted University status since 1st Dec., 2009. (it is established by Haryana State Legislative Act No. 21 of 2009 & Recognized by UGC Act 1956 u/s 22 to Confer Degrees). And in December 2009, it was upgraded to the status of state university by the state government, awarding it autonomous status.

Location - The University is situated on National Highway-2, Mathura Road, 30 km from National Capital, Delhi. The University campus is located in the sprawling Faridabad-Ballabgarh Industrial complex.

Library Facilities - The University Library is a modern library fulfilling the educational needs of students, Research Scholars, faculty and staff of various Departments of the University. Library is spread over a total area of 7200 sq. ft. It also has a separate reading room where students can also bring their own books to study. Library has a rich collection of 57336 volumes in the stream of Engineering & Technology, applied sciences and Management. It has also subscribed good number of journals, magazines and newspapers for its readers. Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) is available to locate the reading material in the library; and it is also member of INDEST Consortium.

Hostel Facilities - The University provide hostel facilities both for the boys and girls. There are 4 boys’ hostels namely:

• Nehru Hall
• Zakir Hussain Hall
• C.V.Raman Hall
• Tagore Hall

There are 3 girls’ hostels in the University namely:

• Girls Hostel-I
• Girls Hostel-II
• Kalpana Chawla

Scholarships - The University is offering 83 scholarships per year for B.Tech. students. some of them are mentioned below:

• 10 full fee waiver
• 20 half fee waiver
• 40 quarter fee waiver
• 13 other scholarships are given to only girl child etc as per Haryana govt. policies.
• All SC / ST students are given full / partial fee refund by the state govt.
• Bharti Group introduced two scholarships per year.
• Alumni scholarship of Rs. 5000/- is also given on merit basis.
• One scholarship per year through Modi Welding on behalf of Welding Society.
• Other agencies like DLF foundation also offers merit scholarships.
• AICTE provides scholarships to the GATE qualified M.Tech. students.

Sports’ Facilities - The University conducts sports activities with academic session with good amount of participation from students simultaneously. Students participate both in inter-college and inter- university sports competitions. Games facilities in University are given below:

Dispensary - The University has a dispensary to provide medical assistance to students and staff members.

Bank and Post Office facilities - The Institute offers both bank and post office facilities for the students. There is Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) branch in the university campus. There is also post office facility available to students and all the staff members of the university.  It provides all the facilities like speed post, registered mail, money orders and mails.
