Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University was established on12th July,1960 by the Bihar State University Act,1960. The Tej Narain Banali College which was taken over as a consitutents colleges formed the nucleus of the University. It's name was changed from Bhagalpur University to Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University in 1991. The name of College is dedicated to Famous Freedom Fighter Tilka Manjhi. The main Campus Area is spread over 264 acres of land. It is also known as T.M. Bhagalpur University or Bhagalpur University. The jurisdiction of the University extends all over northern Bihar. The university is fully accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The courses offered by the university are approved from University Grants Commission (UGC) of India and other regulatory bodies. The University offers 16 certificate / diploma courses and 6 vocational courses.

University Hostels - The University has separate Hostel Facilities for Boys and Girls. There are 4 Boys Hostel and 3 Girls Hostel. The Hostel provides all the basic facilities to all the students.

Library - There are about 1,40,000 Books in the Library. The Library subscribes to 123 Journal/Periodicals and 2 International Journal/Periodicals.
      
Computer Centre - The University has a Centralized Computer Centre with 30 Computers.

Central Health Unit - A Medicare unit of T. M. Bhagalpur University is functioning under the scheme of U.G.C. welfare, providing medical facilities to students and staff of University. The centre has 3 medical officers namely Dr. Amitabh Kr. Sinha (CMO), Dr. Mridula Kumari and Dr. N. K. Poddar, assisted by 2 compounder's and supporting paramedical staffs. Two specialist doctors, Dr. Harshwardhan (Eye specialist) and Dr. Hem Shankar Sharma (Cardiologist) also give advice on specified days. The centre also has a pathology lab and a X ray clinic, to provide investigation facilities, Apart from this, yoga classes are also being run in morning hours. The University is also running a self financed Para Medical courses at Health Centre. There are 3 courses being run namely DMLT, DMRT, DPT.

University Press - The University Press of Tilka Manjhi, Bhagalpur University, Bhagalpur, Bihar was set up with a view to cope with all the printing work of the University and its constituents units.

At present the Press comprises of 5 sections i.e.,

(d) Machine
(e) Daftari/Binding

Infrastructural Facilities:

1 Workshop with two attached bathrooms in which all the machines are fitted.
