About JECRC University

JECRC University (JU) is a Private University established under the Act No. 15/2012 of the Government of Rajasthan. JECRC University is a part of JECRC Foundation north India’s premier education group. JECRC Foundation is promoted by National Society for Engineering Research and Development (NSERD), Jaipur, Rajasthan. JECRC stands for Jaipur Engineering College and Research Centre. JECRC University is self financed University and is unitary in nature i.e. it does not affiliate any other institute as of 2016. JECRC University has its campus in Jaipur the capital city of Rajasthan and the famous tourist and business city in north-western India. Its campus is spread over an area of 32 acres of land and is located around the prime industrial and institutional hub of Jaipur and is well connected with all parts of the city. JECRC University is an accredited member of the Microsoft IT Academy, focused on building a strong base of Microsoft technology skills in the students. It is also a member of All Association of Indian Universities (AIU). The University follows Semester System for academic education. A striking highlight of the campus is the classical style exposed brick-wall buildings with sun-lit and well ventilated interiors which divulge a monumental structure. The cavity wall exposed brick concept ensures that the building gives a temperature difference of almost 8 to 10 degree between the indoor and the outdoor temperature. Keeping in mind the green technology natural materials like traditional Kota and Jodhpur stones are used. Another feature of the campus is its large courtyards between the buildings and the presence of more than 90 different species of plantation around the campus. In line with the concept of Green Campus and zero waste campus recycling of water is done to be used for irrigating the large courtyards. Waste management and rainwater harvesting are other methods towards a green campus. JECRCU has memorandum of understanding with University of Alabama for the promotion and development of collaborative research programs, academic and cultural exchange programs and other cooperative activities and assistance in area of mutual interest and benefit.

Location - The JECRC University campus is located in Sitapura which is within 25-30 minutes drive from the heart of the city.

Hostels – JU Hostel Complex has units which are apartment style 3 private, single occupancy rooms which open into a common living room. These single occupancy air-conditioned rooms offer privacy and personal space to a student while the common room gives a chance to dwell together and foster comradeship. The living room is equipped with a television set, internet access and a pantry making it a complete independent unit.

Library – The library has a collection of 8975 volumes of reference and text-books. It also has a good collection of national and international journals. The students have access to the online e-learning portal for integrated learning including NPTEL. There are 9 Computers with internet connection for the students and the faculty. The library is open for 12 hours a day and accommodates a large number of students in its reading and referencing halls.

Internet and Computing Facilities - The University has 15 computer laboratories with over 500 computers and 25 MBPS 1:1 network. Also the University is under the initiative of NMEICT to connect technical education institutes through National Knowledge Network (NKN) with a high speed internet facility. The University systems work with an ERP Technology backbone. The entire campus network is connected with latest technology enabled servers and CISCO network equipments. The campus is Wi-Fi enabled.

Scholarships’ – To encourage meritorious students the University offers various scholarships.

Other conditions:

• Candidates shall be required to pay other fees as applicable to the programme concerned. Such students shall be required to maintain a minimum CGPA (SGPA in 1st semester) of 8.0 in the subsequent semesters without having any compartment in any subject and minimum 75% attendance in each subject, failing which the Scholarships awarded shall be withdrawn. However, the review of the Scholarship shall be conducted at the end of even semester every year.
• If Scholarship of an admitted student has been withdrawn due to non-compliance of the minimum requirement as above, the same may be restored after the review of the same at the end of next even semester provided the student meets the minimum maintenance criteria of CGPA of 8.0 and 75% attendance in each subject during the period.
• It must be noted that no relaxation in terms of minimum Scholarship maintenance criteria shall be granted. For example if a student gets CGPA of 7.99 or lower or attendance in any of the subject equal to or less than 74.99 % shall loose the Scholarship.
• In addition, suitable free-ship may be considered for high achievers in the field of sports, sons / daughters of Army Personnel who have been killed in war/ terrorist attack, physically handicapped students etc. on case to case basis.

Mess – The University has a double storied Mess next to the hostel complex. It offers multi-cuisine food to the campus residents. It is centrally air-conditioned and has a cafeteria too. The complex also houses convenience stores to meet the daily needs of the residents.

Medical Facility - The University has a first aid centre and has an arrangement with hospitals nearby. JU ambulance is available 24x7 to attend any case of emergency.

Automated Laundry – The University also provide Automated laundry machines for the convenience of the students.

Sports Facility - The University provides facilities for various sports and is equipped with a Gymnasium, a Football ground, a Basket Ball court, a Volley ball court, a Badminton court and indoor facility for Table tennis. The University is member of Association of Indian Universities and its teams participate in various national and international tournaments.

Students Clubs – There are various clubs which cater to the co-curricular activities of the students. Some of these are Entrepreneurship Promotion Society, ENIAC Club, Automotive Club, Swaraag Club – Indian & Western Music, Nature Birds Club, Horticulture Club and many more.

JU Employability Enhancement Program - JU is collaborating with NIIT in helping the students develop required skill sets for making them employable. NIIT partnership with Technology Uncorked (TU) and Think Labs provides high skilled industry training in the field of Robotics, VLSI and Embedded systems. The program is designed to give hands on learning in the fields of Telecom, Networking, Datacom, GSM, GPS; Micro Controller based projects, Industrial automation and Consumer Electronics.

Tie-up with T.I.M.E. - JECRC University has a tie up T.I.M.E (Triumphant Institute of Management Education) to groom its students on Quantitative aptitude and reasoning for Placements, CAT and Bank PO examination as a part of the curriculum.

Placements - The Training and Placement department maintains a strong interface between the industry and the University Training and placement of students. The department maintains continuous interaction between industries to understand their requirements of skill sets and train human resources accordingly. Towards this, the department conducts guest lectures by industry experts, industrial visits, on the job training, seminars and arranges for students projects and internships. The department also provides career counselling and guidance to its students. Special focus is also laid for encouraging the students for entrepreneurship. Placement department also provides Internship Support to the students in their final semester.
