About KR Mangalam University - KRMU

K.R. Mangalam University (KRMU) is a Private University established and managed by K.R. Mangalam Group under the leadership of its Founder and Chairman Yash Dev Gupta. It was founded in the year 2013 through Mangalam Edu Gate, a company incorporated under Section 25 of the Companies Act, 1956. K.R. Mangalam Group is a major domestic and international business group. It ventured in education sector by establishing K.R. Mangalam World School in 2003 and later on established several K.R. Mangalam schools at Greater Kailash, Vaishali, Ghaziabad and K.R. Mangalam Global Institute of Management. K.R. Mangalam University is approved by Council of Architecture, Pharmacy Council of India and Bar Council of India. KRMU campus is spread over 26 acres.

The University assesses the performance of a student in a theory/lab course through a series of Continuous Assessment Tests (CAT) and Semester End Examinations (SEE). A class room instruction/tutorial of one hour duration per week is considered as one Instructional unit. A minimum of 2 hours per week of Laboratory session/practical or field work/ training or a combination of these is considered as ‘One Instructional Unit’. Both class room and laboratory based instructional units have the same weightage. Each course carries a fixed number of credits (C), delivered as Lecture (L), Tutorial (T) or Practical (P) indicated as LTPC. The Course Credits for various courses is provided in the Students' Hand-book. The Grade Point Average (GPA) earned by a student is a quantitative indication of his/her performance during a semester. For each registered course, the grade points earned are multiplied by the credits for that course. The Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA), indicates the overall performance of a student from the time he/she joined the University to a specific semester.

K.R. Mangalam University Campus is located on Sohna Road, Gurgaon around 35 kms. away from the international airport and around 17 kms. from the centre of the Gurgaon city.

Facilities at K.R. Mangalam University

Hostels - Limited hostel accommodation is available, on shared basis, separately for both boys and girls. All the hostel rooms are fully furnished with beds, study tables, chairs and inbuilt cupboards and are equipped with ceiling fans and lights.  Dining facility and shuttle bus services are available from hostel to the university. Special facilities for air conditioner and refrigerator use on payment basis are also available.  Good accommodation can also be obtained in the vicinity of the University. This accommodation can be obtained with the assistance of the University's accommodation office or local estate agents.

International Summer and Winter School - K.R. Mangalam University provides international students the facility to learn and experience the essence of India through the summer program. One can join irrespective of the subjects of his/her study, or industry working for provided one fulfils the programme entry requirements for KRMU Summer or Winter School. This two weeks programme is based at the campus in Delhi-NCR region and it provides the opportunity to study a new subject, meet people from across the globe and learn about a different cultures. Additionally one can take part in various cultural and social activities. Accommodation is provided both on-campus dormitory and off campus housing. All students share a room with a roommate of the same gender and each room is furnished with separate beds, closets and desks. Among the facilities available near the buildings are a study hall, and a convenient store. Students will be permitted to leave the campus only when they are accompanied by adult staff members. Students will have immediate care in case of sickness or injury. Multiple hospitals and clinics are accessible within a 10-minute drive.

Central Library – It is housed in the basement of the main building in the campus. It has a collection of 50,000 books, periodicals, reference, national and international journals and CD-ROMs. The University Library offers an Inter-Library Loan service which provides access to material not held within KRMU whilst also supplying material from its own stock to other libraries. The library also provides IT facilities for internet browsing and to enable readers to consult various electronic resources like MALIBNET and DELNET, catalogues, and image collections.

Centre for Community Engagement – The centre promotes social justice and civic engagement via community service and community-based research and learning. Students are provided support, resources in order to become engaged in a range of issues

It provides support for:

a) CSLP - Community-Service Learning Programme (CSLP) is a community-based learning option in which students attach an additional credit to a course by combining classroom study with active civic participation.

b) CBL - Incorporation of Community-Based Learning (CBL) into Courses, under it the faculty and students can seek assistance with community placements, finding community-based learning resources, and receive logistical support to more effectively integrate community-based learning into their courses.

Laboratories – These facilitate students to experiment and put to practice what they have learnt in theory.

Wifi - The campus is Wifi enabled and students in many programmes are provided with laptops.

Auditorium – It has a good seating capacity and is used by the students, faculty, and corporate personalities for regular interfaces, conferences and other events.

Seminar Halls - The Seminar Halls are equipped with advanced presentation tools and are used for various purposes.

Cafeteria - The central cafeteria of KRMU provide food at subsidized rates. It is spacious and can accommodate large number of visitors. The acoustic design of the KRMU cafeteria minimizes noise level and serves as a student centre as well.

Sports Facilities - The sporting and leisure facilities on campus include cricket, hockey, soccer, volley ball, badminton, tennis, table tennis etc.

Fitness Centre - The campus has an independent fitness centre equipped with various facilities.

Medical Centre - A qualified and experienced doctor is assigned to the centre. A campus medical room provides for several diagnostic procedures and preventive and curative treatments. Emergency cases that require more specialist attention in intensive care facilities are referred to the local hospitals.

Co-curricular and Extracurricular Activities - The University organizes a number of cultural, technical and literary competitions.
