HPTU SLCET 2023 - HPTU State Level Common Entrance Test : Application Form, Exam Date, Eligibility, Syllabus and Exam Pattern

HPTU SLCET 2023 or HPCET 2023 - Himachal Pradesh Technical University State Level Common Entrance Test acronym is HPTU SLCET is conducted by HPTU for providing admission to the Undergraduate pharmacy course (B.Pharma) in pharmacy colleges of the state of Himachal Pradesh. 

Through the entrance, test candidates can get admission to the B.Pharma course of Government B. Pharmacy College, Rohroo, and Private un-aided B. Pharmacy colleges. There is an 85% reservation for the candidates belonging to the state of Himachal Pradesh while 15% of seats are open to all Indian candidates.

Educational Qualification

• Aspiring candidates should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, and one of the following subjects: Mathematics/ Biology/ Bio-Technology / Computer Science.

Note: Those who are appearing for class 12th exams in 2021 can also apply.

Age Limits

• Candidates should be under 25 years of age. 

HPTU SLCET 2023 Syllabus  

The syllabus for the entrance examination shall be the same as prescribed by  NCERT, New Delhi for 10+1 and 10+2. The name of units of NCERT syllabi are:

Syllabus of Physics

• 10+1 Units: Physical Wold, Units and Measurement, Motion in a straight line,  Motion in a plane, Laws of motion, work, energy and power, a system of practical and rotational motional, gravitation, mechanical properties of solids, mechanical properties of fluids, thermal properties of matter, thermodynamics, kinetic theory, oscillations, waves.
• 10+2 Units: Electric charges and fields, electrostatic potential and capacitance, current electricity, moving charges and magnetism, magnetism and matter, electromagnetic induction, alternating current electromagnetic waves, ray optics and optical instruments, wave optics, dual nature of radiation and matter, atoms, nuclei, semiconductor electronics materials, devices and simple circuits, communication system.

Syllabus of Chemistry

• 10+1 Units: Some Basic Concepts of Chemistry, Structure of Atom, Classification of Elements and Periodicity in Properties, Chemical Bonding and Molecular Structure, States of Matter, gases, and liquids, Thermodynamics, Equilibrium, Redox Reactions, Hydrogen, S-Block Elements (Alkali and Alkali and Alkaline earth metals), Some P-Block Elements, Organic Chemistry-Some Basic Principles and Techniques, Hydrocarbons, Environmental Chemistry.
• 10+2 Units: Solid State, Solutions, Electrochemistry, Chemical Kinetics, Surface Chemistry, General Principles and Processes of Isolation of Elements, p-Block Elements, d, and f-Block Elements, Coordination Compounds, Haloalkanes and Haloarenes, Alcohols, Phenols and Ethers, Aldehydes, Ketones Carboxylic Acids, Amines, Biomolecules, Polymers, Chemistry in Everyday Life.

Syllabus Biology

• 10+1 Units: Diversity in Living World, Structural Organisation in Animals and Plants, Structure and Function, Plant Physiology, Human Physiology.
• 10+2 Units: Reproduction, Genetics and Evolution, Biology and Human Welfare, Biotechnology, Ecology. 

Syllabus of Mathematics

• 10+1 Units: Sets, relations and functions, trigonometric functions, the principle of mathematical induction, linear inequities, permutations and combinations, binomial theorem, sequences and series, straight lines, conic sections, introduction to three-dimensional geometry, limits, and derivatives mathematical reasoning, statistics, probability.
• 10+2 Units: Relations and functions, inverse trigonometric functions, matrices, determinants, Continuity and differentiability, application of derivatives, integrals, application of integrals, differential equations, vector algebra, three-dimensional geometry, linear programming, probability.

HPTU SLCET 2023 Pattern 

The examination shall consist of one paper which shall have Section-A, Section-B, and Section C as detailed below:-

There shall be no negative marking. The pattern of the question paper will be multiple-choice questions (MCQ) type. The language of question papers will be English.
