Government Tool Room and Training Centre – GTTC, Bangalore is a joint venture of Government of Karnataka and DANIDA, Government of Denmark. It is a globally acclaimed Tool Room and Training Centre and was established in the year 1972. A scientific and industrial research organisation recognised by the government of India, it is situated in a campus at Rajajinagar, Industrial Estate, Bangalore. GTTC, Bangalore has been established for offering hands-on-long term, short term and need based training programmes. It has also been established to foster manufacturing of critical and precision components for aeronautical and defence sectors and so on.

Government Sponsored Training Programs
- Government Tool Room and Training Centre, Bangalore, also conducts Government sponsored Free Skill Training Programs for the benefit of educated un-employed & economically weaker section youth with an objective to make them industry ready.

Salient Features of these Programs:

  • Sponsoring Departments - Directorate of Industries & Commerce, Social Welfare Department, DIC, Directorate of Municipal Administration under various schemes, viz. SCP/TSP, SDP, NULM etc.
  • The selected candidates will be paid stipend of Rs.1500.00 to Rs.2000.00 per month during the training period as per the scheme guidelines
  • Target to train 4000 plus candidates/year in various employable skills training programs

Corporate Training
- GTTC also conducts Tailor made Skill Enhancement Training programs for working professionals from various Industries and Institutions with an objective to upgrade the technical skills for better productivity.

In-plant Training - After completion of 3 years Training in GTTC, students of Diploma in Tool and Die Making, Precision Manufacturing and Mechatronics are deputed to related industries across the country for a period of one year mandatory In-Plant Training to augment their practical knowledge. During In-plant training, trainees acquire skills in areas of design, process plan, manufacturing techniques, inspection methods etc. The trainees also do a project, related to these areas and submit a report at the end of In­ Plant training period. Trainees are paid good stipend during their training period and most of the students are absorbed in the same industry. Trainees after completion of these Diploma Courses also have excellent job opportunities in Industries in India and Abroad.
