SSC 2024 Entrance Exams are those exams that are conducted on an All India basis for recruitment to lower categories of posts for the various Indian Government Establishments / Offices. SSC or Staff Selection Commission is the authority of the Indian Government for conducting these Examinations. The Commission is responsible for the formulation of policies regarding schemes of examination and other procedures for smooth conduct of examinations/ selection tests, including various Departmental Examinations.

The Staff Selection Commission makes recruitment to non-technical group 'C' and group 'B' non-gazetted posts in Ministries/ Departments, the attached and subordinate offices of the Government of India and the CAG and the offices of the Accountant General.

SSC Entrance Exams Eligibility

  • Age: The age limits for appearing in SSC Examination are different for different posts and are to be confirmed from the Notice of exam published in the Employment News/ Rozgar Samachar. Generally, the age limits are 18 to 27 years on the crucial date. There is age concession in the upper age limit for SC / STs, OBCs, physically handicapped, widows, etc.
  • Education: Educational Qualifications for various posts vary from Matric to Graduates.

 

SSC Entrance Exams Application Procedure

  • Notifications of the SSC Combined Graduate Preliminary Examination are published every year in the month of October in the Employment News and other leading newspapers of India.
  • Candidates are required to apply in the typewritten format as per the proforma printed in the newspapers.
  • Duly completed application forms of Staff Selection Commission Exam are to be submitted by the candidate by Registered Post/ Speed Post/ UPC only.

 

SSC Entrance Exams Pattern and Admission Process

The Staff Selection Commission conducts:

  • Graduate Level Examination: Its eligibility is graduation or equivalent in any discipline.
  • Combined Higher Secondary Level (10+2) Examination: Its eligibility is Higher Secondary i.e 10+2 in any discipline or equivalent.
  • Combined Matric Level Examination: Its eligibility is matriculation qualification or High School.


Those candidates who qualify in the prelims of the Staff Selection Exam are required to appear for the Mains. Candidates qualifying in the mains have to appear for an Interview or Physical Efficiency Test (PET).

Those qualifying in the Matric Level Main Exam are required to pass a skill test (typing or stenography). Some exams such as the Section Officers, Investigators, etc, are held separately and no prelims are held for them.
