The University Grants Commission (UGC) has invited applications for its Post Graduate Indira Gandhi Scholarship for Single Girl Child. The students should be pursuing various non-professional PG programmes in universities/colleges for the academic year 2016-17 and should be the only girl child in the family.
The scholarship has been launched with an aim to compensate direct costs of girl education to all levels especially for such girls who are the only girl child in their family.
The objectives of the proposed scheme are:
To support post graduate education of single girl child in non-professional courses only.

Educational Qualification:
Any candidate who is a single girl child of her parents can apply for this scholarship
The scholarship is only applicable to the single girl child, who has taken admission in regular, full-time first year Master's degree course in any recognised university or a post graduate college
Admission to PG program in distance education mode is not covered under the scheme.
Age limit:
Girl students up to the age of 30, at the time of admission in PG courses are eligible.
