Macquarie University, Australia announced AUD 1.8 million scholarships for Indians

Macquarie University, Australia has announced a scholarship for meritorious Indian students, worth more than AUD 1.8 million. The scholarships include the opportunity to work part-time in Australia to gain practical experience as well.

These new scholarships will focus on support and opportunities for postgraduate female students and undergraduate students across all Macquarie courses.

Macquarie International Women's Scholarship

The Macquarie International Women's Scholarship for postgraduate Indian female students will allow them to achieve their career goals by improving the affordability of acquiring an internationally renowned Master's degree from Macquarie. It will provide for up to AUD 11,000 in tuition fees for the full duration of the course.

Macquarie University Undergraduate Scholarship

The Macquarie University Undergraduate Scholarship is being offered to applicants applying for undergraduate degrees and provides for up to AUD 17,000 in tuition fees for the full duration of the course for academic session commencing in 2017.

Eligibility Conditions

The scholarship is being offered to all those applying for postgraduate/undergraduate degrees. Student must have an unconditional offer letter to be eligible for the scholarship.

Collaboration with three Indian colleges

Macquarie has also entered into collaboration with three Indian universities in order to offer scholarships and grants valued at more than AUD 200,000 to exchange and postgraduate students from these institutions. The three institutes involved in the scholarship agreement include:

  • Lady Shri Ram College for Women in Delhi
  • The Tata Institute of Social Science University, Mumbai
  • St. Xavier's College, Kolkata

As part of these agreements, Macquarie University's Faculty of Arts will offer a Merit Scholarship as well as an Ambassador Scholarship.

  1. Merit Scholarship:
    It will include 50% tuition fee to study a Master's course at the University's Faculty of Arts.
  2. Ambassador Scholarship:
    It will include full tuition fee waiver for the exchange semester as well as a AUD 5000 grant for living expenses.

Both scholarships include the opportunity to work part-time in Australia to gain practical experience.
