The IAS GURU is the culmination of years of contemplation to provide a platform to the Young Geniuses to help them realize their cherished dreams of becoming a Collector/DM. The travails of the students preparing for the civil services examination in the absence of a true grooming centre has inspired us to come up with an institute to nurture the future leaders. The founder of the institute has himself appeared for the Personality Test of the Civil Services Examination thrice. An incorrigible optimist, the founder believes in the ability of man to achieve anything and everything he wants provided he is ready to go the extra mile.
We have started with the vision to expand the inherent capabilities of the students by improving their efficiency through careful nurturing and talent management so as to help them achieve their goals.
Comprehensive Training Facilities
For the above mentioned objective we are providing comprehensive training facilities to thirty students over a period of one year. The immaculate planning and effortless execution of the strategies by our experts will not only enhance the confidence and self-belief of the candidates, but will also make the whole process an enriching and enjoyable experience.
We are the only institute in India to guarantee success at the Preliminary stage of the civil services examination where out of an estimated five hundred thousand candidates a little more than ten thousands are selected, thus catapulting our students into the Main stage. This allows our students to focus on the Main exam which is responsible for the final ranking.

The Integrated Grooming Programme
The Integrated Grooming Programme (IGP) or the Main-cum-Prelim-cum-Main course commences in the first week of October every year for a period of one year. This is our flagship programme through which we groom our students by making them learn, practice and perform and thus battle-harden them for the D-Day. The subjects taught under this course are General Studies, CSAT, two Optional Papers and Personality Development Programme. This programme includes PGP, MGP, PDP and CTSP as detailed below. One can join this course at any time of the year on the basis of which year she/he is preparing for.
Prelim Guarantee Programme
The course starts around second/third week of December. The five-month long programme is intensive and brings out the best in the candidate by providing comprehensive concept building and rigorous training thus ensuring a smooth passage of the candidate to the Main stage of the examination. In this programme we demand uncompromising dedication from our students as we guarantee success. One can join this course at any time of the year on the basis of which year she/he is preparing for.
Main Grooming Programme
This course is held twice a year. A candidate may opt for one of the two sessions. The first session begins in the first week of October and the second session starts from the first week of June. Through this programme we stress upon concept building and subsequent seamless blending of applied aspects into it. Continuity of practice is the hallmark of our programmes where students have to undergo baptism of fire by tackling all aspects of Optional Paper and General Studies Paper.
Personality Development Programme
This course starts from the third week of March. The personality test is an integral part of the Main Examination. In view of the fact that marks for the personality test have been increased to 300 from the year 1993 it has assumed greater importance. Therefore, good score in the personality test plays a crucial role in the process of final selection to Civil Services, especially, in determining the rank of a candidate. The test is aimed at to assess "the personal suitability of a candidate, particularly his mental alertness, critical power of assimilation, clear and logical exposition, balance of judgement, variety and depth of interest and for social cohesion and leadership, intellectual and moral integrity" (Kothari Committee Report).
Comprehensive Test Series Programme
As at IAS GURU we will be grooming a limited number of candidates, we will not be able to accommodate a large number of aspirants. However, we hope to address this problem in part by introducing TEST SERIES for the Preliminary Test that will help them evaluate themselves under strict examination conditions. Students who will not be able to enroll for classroom courses for various reasons will be able to benefit from our foolproof guidance. Trust, quality and reliability will remain our guiding force for the Test Series.
We will hold 15 TESTS including three comprehensive Mock Tests each for the Preliminary Test in General Studies and CSAT. The examination and evaluationwould be strictly on UPSC pattern. Negative marking would be factored into the evaluation process. The tests would be followed by explanatory classes at our centre. The Test Series for each subject will include Strategy Session, Study Material, Practice Tests in the Class and Explanatory Session.
