De Paul Eric Language Training Academy - DELTA

This is a new academy based in the De Paul Institute of Science and Technology (www.dist.edu.in), located at De Paul Nagar, just a short trip from Cochin International Airport, The Institute has a fine record of teaching at the Bachelor’s and Master’s levels and this new venture builds on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Centre, which has been very successful since it was established in 2007. ERIC Training and Technologies Private Limited is a private company established to promote modern approaches to language training in India. It has a franchise agreement with Oxford TEFL (www.oxfordtefl.com, one of the most prominent and respected language teacher training companies in Europe. 

The Academy offers the Trinity College, London, (trinitycollege.ac.uk) Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language as a franchise partner of Oxford TEFL. This is one of the most commonly accepted professional qualifications for teachers of English as a Foreign Language and is offered for the first time in India. It is open to Indians and non-Indians who have sufficiently high levels of English.

COURSES 

This provides courses for Young Learners from the ages of 6-12 years old so that they experience native speaker English from an early age. The children can take either Cambridge or Trinity College exams or certificates. 

There are also courses for children and teenagers aged 12-17 years with Cambridge or Trinity College exams and certificates. 

This offers three programmes 

English for Business

This is to ensure that all De Paul Institute of Science and Technology graduates achieve the standard of English required to work in Multi National companies. The course leads to the Cambridge Business English Certificate. 

IELTS PREPARATION 

This is a rigorous immersion course focusing on the main issues that are tested: grammar, vocabulary, spelling and pronunciation. It is completely different from all other IELTS courses offered in India. Constant verbal and written feedback is given to candidates so that they can learn quickly using the most effective modern materials on the market. Every individual is carefully assessed and is given individual advice on developing skills to achieve high scores in the IELTS.

Teacher Training 

Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (Cert TESOL), Trinity College, London (trinity college.ac.uk) in association with Oxford TEFL, London, Barcelona, Prague and Cadiz (oxfordtefl.com)

This is an intensive 5-week programme of training leading to this highly valuable certificate, much in demand by employers across the world. You will not only be qualified to teach adults but also Young Learners, one of the most in demand skills in the English Language teaching world. This programme offers a unique opportunity to study which will equip you to apply for jobs in many countries. The De Paul ERIC Language Training Academy can offer you a wide variety of experience along with support from highly experienced teachers.

If you wish to stay in India and develop your English Language teaching skills, we can offer you a follow up programme for 10 ½ months. This comprises a 6-week period of supervised teaching where you will teach your own classes after discussion with your assigned mentor followed by a period of 9 months supported teaching during which you will be involved in weekly professional development activities and your mentor will offer you support as required. You will be offered accommodation and living expenses during this 10 ½ months. You will then receive the De Paul ERIC Language Training Academy Certificate in Teaching Experience, demonstrating your practical teaching experience as well as your Trinity College, London, Certificate.
