B.F.Sc Aquaculture or Bachelor of Fisheries Science in Aquaculture is an undergraduate fisheries Science course. Aquaculture or aqua farming is the farming of aquatic organisms such as fish, crustaceans, mollusks, and aquatic plants. Aquaculture involves cultivating freshwater and saltwater populations under controlled conditions and can be contrasted with commercial fishing, which is the harvesting of wild fish. Mari-culture refers to aquaculture practiced in marine environments.
The course promises the most significant aspect as enlightening the students with the study of environmental factors that can adversely affect the availability of fish and the great significant role played by the fish in maintaining the biological balance. The vastly extended coastline of India has made it a hub for the course of a bachelor of fishery science.
