B.Tech. Oil & Gas Informatics or Bachelor of Technology in Oil & Gas Informatics is an undergraduate Engineering course. The course deals with the entire value chain of Oil and Gas including exploration, refining, petrochemicals, production engineering, reservoir engineering, and supply chain along with the necessary Information technology skills like application development, database, networks, security, business intelligence, and data warehousing and open standards. In Oil & Gas sector Information Technology has become indispensable with applications like GIS (Geographic Information System), image analysis through expert systems, networking, GPS (Global Position System) technology, storage technology, remote sensing, RFID (Radio-Frequency Identification), seismic interpretation, telecommunications, well logging data collection, reservoir modelling, etc. The duration of the course for four years and it is divided into eight semesters.
